I have seen the new one. Is this one worth watching?

It's good, but always the constant cucking, why?
damn brits

Couldn’t finish it. Easy top 5 most boring movie I’ve seen

I used to prefer Smiley's People, but having re-watched both recently I can attest to Tinker Tailor being the better of the two.

I had the book. It was fucking terrible, introducing a dozen unnecessary characters every chapter.

watch the tv miniseries instead

don't know about the miniseries but the movie was kino

The film adaptation was pretty kino, one of the best spy movies I've see. But then again, I genuinely enjoyed Cleanskin with Sean Bean

The old one is objectively far better in every way.

Yes, both this and Smiley's People are amazing.

Thanks, i will watch it.

The newer one was fucking filled with tier S actors

Also has an amazing opening:

Takes you back to an era where the BBC weren't run by deranged idiots.

>m-muh celebs!
Brainlets like yourself never learn. Alec Guinness alone blows the entire cast of the newer movie out of the water.

You are overrating obi-wan

They also changed a character who's supposed to be a womanizer into a homo.

and you're a braindead zoomer starstruck by celebs.

>but the movie was kino

It's my favourite movie

The Little Drummer Girl series from last year was actually surprisingly good as well.

If the film was too much for you than you won't be able to handle the miniseries

I didnt like it. It was kinda messy. I am a spy-movie loving euro. Good Shepherd was much better.

Both versions are pretty great, the mini is a slower burn and has an unglamorous quality that makes it feel realistic. The movie is quicker obviously but still pretty dense.

My only criticism between the two is the mole's reasons for working for the Soviets. In the mini it seemed more genuine than the film.

i fell the fuck asleep three out of the three times i attempted to watch it

Absolutely.

i should watch the mini but the oldman movie fuckin rules

>Poor George, life's such a puzzle to you, isn't it?
What did she mean by this?

This but American.

Ann is a disgusting whore.

George is autistic.

remake is boring as fuck

Best miniseries I've seen in my life
It's absolutely incredible and a genuine masterpiece. Also Alec Guinness as George Smiley is some of the best acting I've seen.

I fucking can't praise this show enough and if you like spy films you have to see it.

I thought it was a bit too slow actually. And the acting wasn't completely believable (Alexander Skarsgård is not a great actor).

But it might have the best cinematography in a TV show.

a smashing thriller
exhilarating

Yeah, Skarsgård had some really horrible scenes. I was pleasantly surprised by Florence though, and Michael Shannon was terrific. And the directing+music was definitely the high points overall, but I've become a Park Chan-Wook fan in later years so no surprise there.

For England, George?

Smiley likely would have kept his silence and waited for Haydon to break the silence with a soliloquy.

extremely boring
