This is a decent idea man. After watching OUATIH (check out tarantinos playist on spotifiy) I realized how much enjoyment you can get from a certain time period. It's enjoying the aesthetic of that time. I think I'm gonna get do this, thanks OP.

Go to the thrift store and buy a $30 tv. It's what I did and it is pretty nice.

Why would you downgrade to CRT if there's no point in watching live TV or using DVDs anymore? You've got emulators if you wanna play old video games too.

Vhs tapes have a fuzzzier comfy grade to them, you could watch these instead of tv downgrade faggotry

CRT is the chad of monitors. Equipped to handle any resolution, true blacks, weighs a fuck ton so niggers will never steal it, faster response time, can kill a man with one, high end crt STILL have a richer color palette

I wouldn't necessarily do this all the time, or to do HD movies, but I do remember in the 90's when I first had a TV in my room and watched Demolition man when it aired on a local fox channel with the antenna because I didn't have a cable hookup in my room.

I never upgraded from 1080i crt, I just don't think any modern flat screen tv has the same warmth and the resolution is basically HD

Its only just getting their with oled, Its 32" but I don't want anything bigger huge 50" tvs dominate peoples rooms

just finished an blu-ray rip of the waterloo (1970) on a few custom modded GBA video carts. It made it hard to figure out who was who cause of the compression but I just guessed anyone who sounded french was neapolitan and anyone who sounded brittish was a brit prob.

I watched the original Blade Runner recently on laserdisc on an old CRT and everything about it felt so right. Like when I was a kid back then imagining what 2019 would be like, I didn't imagine big high resolution flat screens. I just imagined having my own apartment living my own life and unwinding after the craziness 2019 would throw at me with a movie and watching that really brought it into its full flourished form.

I figure in 2032 I'll watch Demolition Man on a CRT as well and maybe with a big collection of guns I stole from a museum.

They played it via blueray, but recorded it onto a VHS, and then reorced the vhs footage back onto a computer or something. Might’ve been a little bit more elaborate than that.
