I don’t get why this film is praised

I don’t get why this film is praised.

>Screenplay is shallow and so obvious in its hand holding of the audience

>Action isn’t captivating

>Copies plot points from other film like Vanilla Sky and Dark City

>No interesting characters

>Devoid of meaningful emotional moments despite the film desperately trying to create them

The ending is good and it has some good practical effects but holy shit why do people insist it’s one of the best movies of its decade?

Brainlets who struggled to wrap their heads around the concept of multiple dream layers thought it was subtle and clever, even though 80% of the dialogue is just pure exposition.

I agree. That script is horrid, i mean most of it is just people explaining the plot.

You need to watch these in order to understand Inception.

You haven't seen Paprika yet. It's the far superior original Inception tried to rip-off. Nolan and his brother are such hackshits, they think people won't notice. There are entire fucking frames copied and ripped off 1:1.

sorry i prefer the REAL original

Yeah I wasn’t talking about paprika the main narrative I was talking about the choice between embracing a fantasy or living in reality. Should’ve have added the plagiarism from Paprika.

it's good. it's about escapism and the mundanity of post modern life, not so much about how cool the dreams are. reddit loves it for the wrong reasons

>Adam Sandler movies
yikes

>There are entire fucking frames copied and ripped off 1:1.
huh, such as?

What praise? Its hardly ever mentioned and when it is, its just "Yeah I remember seeing that when it came out, so mindblowing." and that's about it. hardly anyone ever talks about it on Yea Forums.

Adam Sandler movies make you smart enough to understand Inception, it's true!

Everyone was talking about it the year it came out and it was nominated for a bunch of oscars. Made almost everyone’s top ten of the year list and starting to make appearances on the best of the decade lists. Every movie that has a somewhat “complicated” plot immediately gets called this years inception.

Some people put it on their best of the decade list.

>Matrix for corporatist yuppie liberals
Bravo.

>The Right Stuff for Southern rednecks
Bravo.

Welcome to every Nolan script. The other 20% is pseud inner monologue drivel to make the characters sound smart to dumb people

I like his movies. Does that make me a dumb person?

Also his bros first season of Westworld is a masterpiece

It makes you a dumb person who pretends to be smart.
Westworld is terrible, the twists are predictable and the whole structure is gimmicky as fuck. They thought too much about muh twists rather than creating characters.

Based

>and so obvious in its hand holding of the audience
Do you know how many people on this board didn't get the movie when it came out?

It was kinda jarring how many stupid fucks actually thought this movie was complicated

>”DUUUUUUUUUDE ITS LIKE A DREAM? INSIDE A DREAM?”

Good on first watch, but Leo's character is too dry to invest in. I wish Nolan wasn't so clinical, plotty and humorless; the dream world didn't feel vivid or intriguing beyond the heist. Music was great though
