Should I watch this?
Should I watch this?
Yes.
Maybe if you like puppets
Yes
No
>literally just came on here to make a thread about it
I just watched the movie after watching the show, and boy is the show better.
what you trying to say?
the show uses puppets. so if you like that then it's maybe something to watch.
indeed
based retard
They were puppets? Didnt notice.
You want to fuck Deet
Hmmmmmmmm....
only if you have lots of free time and are not a sensitive faggot who can't stand puppets. you don't have to like them but if you cant tolerate them its not for you. having a passing knowledge of the movie helps. show only gets good after 4th or 5th ep
I'm halfway through and it's the comfiest series I've seen in a while
Yep.
I hope this is a renaissance for practical effects in shows and movies. I’m not saying that we should have puppets in everything, but there is something impressive and engaging in having a tactile character rather than CGI.
This is what made Fellowship of the Ring and the Star Wars original trilogy cool. You had puppets and guys in rubber suits. It looked like you could walk up to them and shake their hand or fight them.
Is there any gay shit/ usual Netflix propaganda in it? I might watch it with my little brother
I doubt it. It'd have to be some big hit hollywood movie to set that trend.
But I get what you mean. Even if the let's say guy in a rubber suit looks fake. I mean you can see that it's obviously a guy in a rubber suit, but You still know it's actually there and not just computer generated image
There's one instance where Deet has two dads but they're only brought up once and never really get mentioned again.
It's a good show, the Skeksis scenes are the highlight, the puppetry and expression in those is fucking unbelievable.
Deet has a grandfather and a father with no mother, because that isn't explicitly told, retards on /pol/ immediatly think they're homosexual.
HMMMMM?
i watched the first episode while stoned last night and don't regret it.
True but nobody and I mean nobody does puppets like the Henson guys do. CG is cheaper and requires a lot less highly-paid craftsmanship.
Yeah the thing is that no matter how realistic CGI is, you know it’s fake. The puppets aren’t “real” in the sense that they’re real breathing creatures, but you still know it’s an actual object.
Practical effects are also the superior option when dealing with stuff that is supposed to be disgusting to the audience. You feel uneasy when the skeksis eat or when puss is coming out of the Emperor's sores because it's 'real'.. CGI can never replace that.
There’s a pair of gay dads you barely notice but otherwise no
yup
my only regret is to watch it all in one day and now I feel empty with nothing else to do
I hope this gets lots of fanart soon
Show is pretty bad.
There are 2 guys who are gay for each other but only because they are actually 2 halves of 1 guy.
So glad I spaced this out over a week. I recommend other anons do the same.
I've it downloaded somewhere, watching episode sometimes when I really feel like it. No need to rush things.
I just finished the show. 10/10 prequel, better than the movie it's based on.
But what the fuck, the stitched lips slaves and 'that' scene with the Scientist was genuinely disturbing and only a madman would find that appropriate in a supposed family rated show.
You see them throughout the show, in pain, terrified and treated like shit, like poor fucking innocent muppet characters caught by demonic monsters. All they want is to escape. And you figure they will be rescued, as would happen in any other fantasy story, one finally manages to get the stitches out, and what happens? The scientist fucking chucks him into a pit of fire and beats the other to death.
Fucking cruel. .
And don't forget uses the body of the one he beat to death to build his garthim monster. Truly family friendly
only if you watched it as a kid and have nostalgiagoggles to wear
otherwise it's pretty silly, much like neverending story
I doubt its a family show.
>beats the other to death
and uses his body to make a chimera
tfw no femdom deet gf to carry you through the breath of thra
I don't recall anyone having their cloths ripped of by a mob of mocking monsters in neverending storyor being forced to watch as their lover is turned into soda and drank
I loved it, well worth the watch. One thing though, Celadon was a shitty character and never redeemed herself but everyone acted like she did.
>I doubt its a family show.
I didn't think so til I watched the documentary and there's comments about how they watched the original as kids and hope kids watch this.
Also how kids are too coddled these days and how its ok for them to see that there's dark in the world, etc.
>if there's no POC then I'm not watching this white supremacist propaganda
well they are right.
It's rated 7+.
I would have at least put a PG on that. Then again, a lot of this stuff may only seem really disturbing to you as an adult, as a kid you just go along with it. I was spooked by the movie as a kid tho, and the show is much darker.
Well kids are way too coddled these days. A lot of the kids shows or movies are considered too violent or disturbing for kids.
Not just drank, slobberered up by a gang of cackling demon birds fighting over it like kids would with candy from a pinata.
Sounds based
The wrong sister died, Celadon should have died helping them all escape.
Couldn't agree more, I mean she still sided with the skeksis even after they stripped and jailed her and still blamed Brea for it all, not once did she apologise for what she did to their mother. She was a cunt and it pissed me off that it all just got swept aside like it never happened. Tavra shouldnhave lived.
I think they kept Celadon alive on purpose so they could explore her character more. I think her redemption is still coming. It is weird that they kinda ignored it for now but then again after they got out of the prison when did they have time to talk about it? Shit was pretty intense after that they were all worried about survival. There'll be time to confront her later and for her to really be redeemed though I bet they have her do something shitty again first.
You make a good point and I forgot that there will be more seasons. I am less angry now thanks user.
The ending of episode 1 when the Chamberlain was doing his monologue was kino
Literally the most kino villain since Gul Dukat
yeah I thats why I love old Godzilla movies, the fact that there is a little jap men inside doing retarded stuff make me forgive everything its so fucking fake
he wasn't even wrong either tho. Skesis are objectively superior to Gelfling
Yeah if you think about it with multiple season in mind it makes sense. There's nothing to do with Tavra, Celadon has somewhere to go
