One of the comfiest movies I've ever seen. I thought it was gonna be woke anti-Christian bullshit, but it felt like it was made by someone who's really nice and compassionate. Even the assholes were presented in an empathetic manner.

Very maternal movie

it's unironically top 10 movies in 21 century

It’s one of the only pro-Christian movies Hollywood has ever made

>special snowsflake name
>Unnatural hair color
>Female protagonist
>Praise by far left film critics

Nah, I'm not gonna go for it. Pure cringe.

The movie ends with her scolding some hipster art kid for not believing in God, and then visiting a church

After behaving like a real roastie slut for 2 hours. Am I right?

Laaaaady biiiiiird

Watched this with my sister. As soon as the movie's over, she called our mom. They haven't spoken to each other for six months because of some stupid argument.

She has sex once in the movie, and loses her virginity at 17. And the casual sex isn't even presented as being inherently positive. It's an empty and humiliating experience for her

White knighting a fictional character isn't going to get you laid incel. This worthless slut ladybird isn't going to crawl out the TV and suck your dick lmao

You can enjoy a movie without enjoying or relating to a character, user

I like that it felt sincere in many scenes and almost made me feel that sweet fuzzy feeling I used to have when I watched coming of age movie.
I like the way people talk in the movie. Not too sarcastic but not too "realistic" either.
The characters felt like they were partly childish in a creative or original way.

But sometimes that feeling is lost and they all looked fake and pretentious. For example when the less cute friend felt neglected by Saoirse and when they later reconciled. I don't know why but...I guess if I accept they are partly children I can accept their reconciliation.

Triggered moron.

lol glad I’ll never watch this shit

I'm defending the movie and its ideology, not some fictional character

So you're telling me this movie is secretly based and redpilled?

>the less cute friend
She banged the teacher and then got let go for the wife or after they had a pregnancy scare, and Ladybird was too preoccupied with herself to tell, right?

Yup. Based Bishop Barron loved it

I think that's an overstatement--I'd qualify Lady Bird as being a good movie, but nothing about it particularly impressed me. I don't think it's a movie people will still be discussing 20 years from now.

No Saoirse met a rich and popular girl and put on Ladybird rich and popular persona and neglected her old friends.
Later Saoirse learned her lesson and reconciled with the friend.
This actually makes sense because kids do fall out then reconcile sometimes. But I sometimes feel the characters are too old for reconciliation.

That's CWC brother right?

You should check out Lars and the Real Girl.

>implying the fat girl wasn't home crying on prom(refusing to say what's wrong to Ladybird) because she got dumped by the teacher she had the hots for

Let me guess, you like Nolan too?

it was very comfy actually, would recommend

>Positive opinions of SJW the flick itt
Guess this movie really brings the blacked posting trannies out of the woodwork

It was ok, gave me Ghost World vibes, but GW is infinitely better

How exactly is the film SJW?

If you need to ask you're in the wrong place. Just look at her.

>entire film is about a special snowflake realising her mistake
>durr but she has colourful hair on the cover so it's an sjw movie!!!

see: You're a fucking retard literally judging a movie by its cover.

If it's really an anti SJW film then why do SJW's rate it as one of the best flicks of all time alongside SJW flicks like get out, black panther and fury road?

A film with an SJW character isn't the same as an SJW film. And she's not even an SJW character. She basically tells a hispanic kid that he got into a good school because of his ethnicity, which isn't something a leftist would say

Because muh representation. It was made by a female director staring female characters, therefore you're obligated to praise it. But the film itself isn't particularly political

Because you're projecting your "I can only rate movies high if I agree 100% with the character!" autist stance onto those people.

The title character 100% would have voted for Hillary and that makes it political propaganda enough for me

>I can watch a movie about gangsters and murderers and empathize with them
>I can't watch a movie about a teenage girl who might've voted for Hillary
I bet she'd be a Bernie bitch tbqh

I really thought Laurie Metcalf deserved an Oscar for her role.

Gangsters and murderers aren't exterminating my people

What a sad thread

>Made multiple anti ladybird posts in this thread
>Movie actually made me cry
Yeah I'm thinking I'm based

>the girl that plays Lady Bird is some lesbo slut into hardcore BDSM
The absolute state of Christian media.

>lesbo slut into hardcore BDSM
What

you mean like you do with movies like the joker, calling it an incel movie because you cant identify with the character

>like you do
I'm not your strawman.

Her whole persona is she's a traditional girl, but behind closed doors she's a clam connoisseur.

Where's the hardcore BDSM picture proof, motherfucker. I want to fap.

Greta Gerwig basically did a softcore porno in the mid 2000s.

unironically think that this is movie men will never understand, one of the shittiest movies I've seen, but I see how it will be effective for women

nice movie. Its made with mothers and daughters in mind and is about that relationship. When I went to see it I was in a theater that was mostly empty, just me and 5-6 older women. I felt like an honorary mom crying along with all of them lol. If you absolutely HAVE to bring politics into it, it ends with a very traditional, conservative mood. I think thats both simplifying and obfuscating the very nice, subtle themes of the movie though.

it sucked tho

>I felt like an honorary mom crying along with all of them lol.

It's just you. Plenty of men seem to enjoy it

No but nice trips

>WHAT? IT'S NOT ANTI-CHRISTIAN EVEN THOUGH IT PUSHES PRE-MARITAL SEX!

Really
Makes me wanna watch it

well it looks like fucking shit

It doesn't push it though. The one sex scene is humiliating for her

6 inches for the Holy Spirit

>I felt like an honorary mom crying along
You'll never pass

greenberg (2010)

>virgin getting deflowered by some retard who doesn't care about her, much less isn't her husband

pretty far from comfy desu

«LADY BIRD» IS ILLUMINISTIC, ANTICHRISTIAN, DRIVEL; THE FACT THAT YOU ARE CLAIMING THAT IT IS OTHERWISE IS EITHER: A TESTAMENT OF YOUR NESCIENCE, OR A TESTAMENT OF YOUR MENDACITY.

based cole

she's a big girl

she did a joe swanberg film (several, in fact), which, while not ponrographic, isn’t a million miles away either. the one user is probably talking about is nights and weekends, which she co-directed. lots of nudity and some sex but it’s not that explicit or erotic, even by swanberg’s standards.
