Saw is shit, but I think that there's a plot point somewhere that Jigsaw doesn't want the trials to be ridiculously impossible and that he intentionally lies and breaks the rules to give people more chances at survival- except his apprentice or something gets obsessed with murder against Jigsaw's wishes
