Absolute kino, I wish tv discussed this show more

He got killed by that animal Blundetto

What do you want to talk about? How about how the show DIDN'T die along with Jimmy

this. shit ending.

but it didn't jimmyfag

Attached: 121021-ep31-gyp-450.jpg (625x417, 50K)

>the man eats like a fucking child

I can't even say his name

reminder this show was canceled to allow GOT to take the spotlight for hbo.

source? I thought Rome got cancelled for that

I missed Jimmy but Season 3 and 5 were great. I liked watching Luciano slowly grow throughout the series from just some small time guy in the first episode to one of the strongest Mafioso's at the end.

I don't think Buscemi was a good lead though

>le villain of the week who's sole characteristic is being very mean
boy the show really soared high after jimmy left

>villain of the week
you don't know what that means

I heard they cut Jimmy's arc short because he was a headache to work with is that true?

Breadstick in a bow tie is proof Gyp is a genius

And a junkie, it's funny because the cunt knows he is a good actor too. Nuckys first gf (Paz) also refused to take her tampon out in a scene and was a pain in general, I don't think you saw her again after S1

yeah, they stretched this one dimensional character that doesn't develop an inch after his first minute through the whole season, wooo.

truly the sopranos of our generation

I used to love reading Mafia history, and in the later seasons there was so much important events and characters that didn't appear, I was really disappointed by that. It was too rushed, they didn't show Rothstein's death, the St. Valentine's Massacre, the war between Masseria and Maranzano, and there were so many infamous mobsters in Luciano's circle that just never showed up. Genovese, Anastasia, Gambino, Bonanno, Costello, dammit I really wanted the show to at least show some of these guys.

stopped watching after season 3. just isn't the same without my boy

The scene when he was getting choked out with a belt was pretty sexy desu

Remus was based, so was the butcher guy. The show had so many good characters

The butcher was a mutt for killing Jimmy's beautiful lesbian wife

All except Nucky funny enough

>not posting the saddest death

Attached: lead_large.jpg (615x411, 37K)

I wish I could get back the time I wasted on this shit show

>tv
too bad you werent here when it was on tourist

based

Try shooting yourself

I remember a big drop off in quality after Jimmy died that at the time was unusual for HBO.

>the Mr. Slater season
>the black guy from Westworld season
>the Michael Shannon heel turn season
>the Florida/Cuba season

I hated all of those

>false narrative

The showrunners lost interest and left the show in order to produce their dream project: Vinyl

Too bad the audiences hated it and were pissed that Boardwalk was canceled to make way for it. Ironically, Vinyl was cancelled as well.

I really like her version of the song
youtube.com/watch?v=fwuzr7JV1x4

It deserved a 2nd season, it started setting up cool shit

The show sucked after season 2.

Right? They did that time jump right over the best parts of mafioso history!

They shoulda just done a show on the shit they skipped instead of the shit they made.

I didn’t think vinyl was terrible but they should have dropped the entire plot line of his bored housewife

Yeah, I don't know what the showrunner was thinking - I think he should've either gone all-in on the municipal/machine politics stuff with the organised crime as a side thing, or gone all-in on the "rise of the mafia/Syndicate" aspect. Didn't help that the actors for Rothstein, Capone, Luciano gave such good performances either. I think they even dropped Nucky as city treasurer in season four

Should have reduced Nucky's scenes to almost nothing

I never watched it. Like many Boardwalk fans, we blamed the showrunners for the fall of Boardwalk Empire, so we didn't watch their new show outta spite.

They dug their own grave as did Jimmy when he planted this seed in Nucky's brain in Episode 1.

Attached: ''You can't be half a gangster Nuk. Not anymore.''.jpg (1200x675, 62K)

Maybe if the actor wasn't such an unlikeable cunt in real life he wouldn't keep getting killed off or replaced like in Hannibal.

kek, I wonder if he was a prick in Ghost in the shell

Season two was so disappointing. It gets set up as Nucky vs. The Commodore which are two behemoths in the foundation of Atlantic City and then The Commodore has a stroke three episodes in and the whole rivalry falls apart.

You fucking no talent do nothing useless nobodies will never know the burden of being a creative genius like van Gogh, George Orwell, Kurt Cobain, or Michael Pitt. You will never know what it's like to have a gift, something that none of your peers posses, and the burden that has on your soul. You all are and forever will be, just nothing, useless, jealous, nobodies and I hope you die painfully... as painful as the art that Michael gives to this world.

Attached: kurtcobainreading.jpg (504x464, 104K)

What's frustrating was how good Luciano's actor was. His rise was the most interesting part of the series.

They had to pivot because the actor who played the Commodore (Dabney Coleman aka Jack Flack from "Cloak & Dagger") got throat cancer.

Attached: Jack Flack!.jpg (515x768, 50K)

>it's true
Shit, that sucks. I actually liked the city politics side of things, was hoping we'd get more out of that bunch of elderly businessmen (one of whom gets scalped by Jimmy)

>FUN FACT: Pitt actually played Kurt Cobain in a film. Tortured artist for sure.

>FUN FACT: Guess which other Boardwalk actor was in C&D? ...The Butcher!

best mommy

I wish she'd kiss my little winkie

Attached: 1118full-gillian-darmody.jpg (1118x939, 72K)

Doesn't' help that he has the most laughable baby face in the industry. Can't believe they expected us to buy him as a shell shocked stone cold killer.

hmm

My favorite scene of the series was when Jimmy's mom was calmly rationalizing Jimmy's wife's death, how she'd take her place, and that nobody would remember her death in a year or two. Without saying a word, you could see Pitt quietly and slowly going over the cliff before attempting to kill her in a rage.

Attached: WindingAccomplishedAmericankestrel-size_restricted.gif (350x250, 2.04M)

>i'll remember!
i always took that scene in two ways. he was also trying to kill her because she molested him and he was projecting those memories as well

>molested

Wish that were me!

They were kids who were sent over faggot

>tfw no redhead mommygf
Jdimsa.

Attached: BiBo.gif (500x275, 3.61M)

You raise an excellent point! (even if Jimmy left his Ivy League school willingly and signed up instead of being drafted).

Kids were turned into soldiers back then. A babyfaced Jimmy was just a sign of the times. Plus, what made BE so good was that it's characters subverted expectaions:

>Nucky - skinny little whimp is the most powerful gangster in ATL
>Chalky - uneducated ugly black thug is the head of a powerful gang
>Richard - deformed kind introvert is the best killer on the show
>Etc, etc, etc...

Jimmy was just a part of the magic, that sadly ended after season 2.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 83K)

Remember when the show had a pointless blacked cuckold plotline where a white guy forced a black guy to have sex with his wife under gunpoint so he could watch?

People who think this show was good are lying to themselves, After Michael Pitt left they didn't know what to do, and did three seasons with "villain of the season" shit. But let's be honest here, first two seasons were just as bad. They just wanted to make the next sopranos, but realized they need more than just having animal blundetto as a lead.

Attached: 1518341101291.jpg (400x250, 20K)

Dude... or gal shit I dunno. This has the best ending of any series I have ever seen. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

>Nuckys first gf (Paz) also refused to take her tampon out in a scene
Wait so they needed her to take her tampon out to shoot a scene? What the fuck? Was the string hanging down in the shit or something?

It's ironic that the main problem with the entire show was it's star Buschemi/Nucky.

Everyone in his orbit was a million times more interesting than him, so it felt like they tried so many times to make him cool, the star, etc. to the show's detriment. They shoulda switched the show over to the N.Y. mob right after this scene instead of doing Nucky in Cuba or teenage Nucky flashbacks.

What did Yea Forums think of the Commodore's collection?

Do t be such a sensitive Sally. Try being a positive Pete.

it became true jewkino after season 2

blacked cuckhold plots

way more emphasis on black characters

several times where rich anglo men shit on jewish characters and get their comeuppance later

>tfw Commodore was /our guy/ all along

>Wait
I hope you get cancer

speaking of which, that scene where Gillian beat up a helpless old man, slapping him repeatedly, really scared me - I hope when I'm 80, I don't have a prostitute treat me like that!

I liked nucky, i dont care if im the only one.

that's a bit harsh dude

kill yourself zoomer poof

Retard.

I like him too, I agree the show didn't meld his stuff with the ancillary gangster stuff well, and the missing season of seeing Rothstein's death, st valentines day massacre etc is a tragedy, but I always liked the Nucky storylines and they always ended strongly.

>the sopranos
Overrated shit. How anyone can watch greasy wops is beyond me.

Do you think it’s odd to get so triggered over my use of the word “wait”? At some point you have to reflect on what’s inside friend. Don’t be such a negative Nancy.

eat shit bitch

move along zoom zoom

they're like zoo animals, it's fascinating

Based. These days a kike would encourage that degeneracy.

Ahh, that warm fuzzy feeling of having dropped this show right after season 3.

>all those noses.

user the show clearly died with Richard

whatever happened there

Boardwalk Bros... what are some lesser know mafia films that are kino?

I got the "BEnds" but don't wanna watch the whole series over again.

Attached: 3eef0cba3141ef95d7b875b832a86170.jpg (1500x1500, 300K)

Wrong
That makes sense.

I have high hopes for the Leonardo Di Caprio one coming out. It's pre-Boardwalk era, around the same time as young Vito in Godfather 2

Everyone seems to forget about Road to Perdition

Seen it, kino film.

What about pic related? It says "Better Than Sopranos!"

Attached: v73087h1ld3.jpg (569x800, 102K)

Hoodlum was one of my favorites growing up. Andy Garcia as Lucky Luciano, Tim Roth as Dutch Schultz, and Laurence Fishburne as Bumpy Johnson. Really good movie.

Thanks. I'll put it on my list. Saw it back when Blockbuster was around. I don't really care for black monsters (and think Chalky ruined Boardwalk especially in the later seasons).

>I'm glad its you

Attached: 134.jpg (316x202, 7K)

Cuba and Teenage Nucky were both shit
we didn't need the Jimmy's mom flashback stuff because we were already given everything we needed to put the pieces together (as well as being literally told what happened) and All of the Cuba stuff was boring as hell

20 years....

Yeah I get that but Laurence Fishburne is pretty good and Tim Roth is fucking awesome in it.

In fact I'd put that as Tim Roth's best role.

The Devil in the White City?
Because that's going to be some high level world's fair kino

I didn't ask for these feels, OP

Attached: 1556681659657m.jpg (1024x962, 82K)

To be fair there was no way the '20s city politics side could ever compete with Capone/Luciano/Rothstein.

No, The Black Hand. He plays a New York detective investigating a Sicilian Mafia godfather in the 1900s. It's a true story and a great cat and mouse story between the two very formidable men. I remember reading a book on it.

It's in pre-production right now, still don't know who plays Vito Cascio Ferro, the Mafia boss. Possibly the first ever boss of bosses.

Rome was cancelled ages ago.
this show was cancelled for Vinyl

20 fuckin years in the can

This motherfucker was great as a cartoony villain in Hannibal

Attached: serveimage (1).gif (480x269, 673K)

Pitt is excellent in everything that he is in.

Hope they cast him as Doctor Doom in the MCU.

Attached: 71twcO3Q+IL._SL1500_.jpg (1056x1500, 219K)

Whatever happened?!

The primary emotional conflict of the show died with Jimmy, along with the more popular and interesting lead. Not a jimmyfag I enjoyed all 5 seasons, but this is where it peaked and it dropped in quality quickly

Back to plebbit

It’s ironic because this insult is absolutely Reddit tier.

Started this film... it's killing me how bad it is. It's basically "Chalky White The Movie". Granted, Bumpy is more well spoken, but you can obviously tell the writers of Boardwalk stole the idea of the character:

>Chalky = Bumpy

That said, if they made a film about Richard, that'd be fucking based!

Attached: Die niggers!.gif (245x154, 984K)

>Hope they cast him as Doctor Doom in the MCU.
>autistically REEEEEEEEEing at that damned REEEEEEEEEEEchards

Attached: zbUbiQS.jpg (277x458, 85K)

After Jimmy the show went downhill.

UPDATE:

I turned it off. "Hoodlum" is not a classic mafia film and should never be mentioned around kino like Mean Streets, Miller's Crossing, etc.

You all should be ASHAMED of yourselves. Fucking sjw liberal faggots!!!

Attached: giphy (2).gif (500x250, 999K)

I watched one episode and it was awful.

Jimmy was the heart of the show.

>M-MUH HARD TO WORK WITH!!!!!
Fucking pussies, the lot of them. He's no Klaus Kinski, why don't these losers try and ask Herzog what it's like directing an actor who's difficult to work with

Well said. I think the other actors were just pissed he was a better actor than them. And the directors, well Pitt went method - as Jimmy spiraled into darkness, so did he. That's what the best actors do!

Ahem...

Attached: audie-murphy-9418662-1-402.jpg (1200x1200, 153K)

I was so excited watching that scene thought we would see an all out mafia war but nothing really happened.

I think that's not what most people mean by method acting, so much as it's just the character overwhelming you and seeping into your being in a way, as opposed to deliberately doing things like not washing yourself for weeks because the character hasn't washed, but yeah, I agree. The best actors are possessed by their character during emotionally intense roles.

So I was conpletely right in dropping it after jimmy died.
This is the true kino experience, just stop watching shows and films when they reach a point you are content with.
Hacks will always force things that didnt need to happen.
Watching things to the end just because is for pea brain normies.

>kys

Attached: tumblr_pca348JemF1uv0xxro2_250.jpg (250x372, 28K)

What's your point?
That was a very good performance, but also very overrated at the same time.
There's not much nuance to it. Acting a certain exaggerated flavor of really unhinged all the time isn't the most difficult work for an actor.

My point is that I want to method act that I'm killing you and raping everyone you love.

Damn bro, follow your dreams I guess
