Is amnesia a real thing?

sometimes its portrayed like its a get out of jail free card, dunno, pretending like you dont remember seems like more trouble

do you guys ever get the feeling that you're being tracked/watched?
for example sometimes i'll watch a movie that hasn't been talked about cinema release and then a thread about it pops up
like OP for example. i watched it last night and now theres a thread. this has happened far too many times for it to be a coincidence at this point

Yes, I keep forgetting I hate this place.

sometimes its portrayed like its a get out of jail free card, dunno, pretending like you dont remember seems like more trouble

This place is hell. I realized last year around thanksgiving/Christmas season that I suddenly stopped coming for a few days because that comfy holiday atmosphere was distracting me for once so I decided to stop coming altogether. Then New Years hit and I was fucking miserable and came back. I’ve been spending at least an hour here every day since.

That's synchronicity search it on google

its because if this was posted before you watched the movie you probably didnt notice and just scrolled by. now that youve seen it a familiar scene will catch your eye

I joined discord and I've never been happier. I barely come to Yea Forums anymore.

I did a rewatch of unsolved mysteries at work a few years back when it was added to prime
I distinctly remember a case in the first or second season where there was a case of a man getting amnesia and being found thanks to the show, and it being patently clear that he was faking it because he had a warrant out for his arrest, it was hilarious

Wow a whole hour!

>just started watching the office
>suddenly notice all the office threads

>replacing one shitty place for an equally shitty one

>Benjaman Kyle" was the alias chosen by an American man who has severe amnesia. On August 31, 2004, he was found, naked and injured, without any possessions or identification, next to a dumpster behind a Burger King restaurant in Richmond Hill, Georgia. Between 2004 and 2015, neither he nor the authorities had determined his real identity or background, despite searches that had included television publicity and various other methods.

>In late 2015, genetic detective work, which had gone on for years, led to the discovery of his prior identity, as William Burgess Powell (born August 29, 1948), although a gap of more than 20 years in his life history still remains without any documented records. With the rediscovery of his Social Security number, he has again become eligible for ordinary employment and has received public assistance.[1]

thanks bro

you can only make this mistake if you think that you do thing spontaneously. in truth, the actions you take are within an already predetermined field. For instance, you would never decide to watch an iranian feature film, because you weren't born in the correct parameters that allow that action.
You're part of a demographic that browses Yea Forums, that's a small niche compared to the wider population. Whatever it is that influenced you to watch a certain film last night, also likely influenced other people like you, and other people like you also browse Yea Forums. It would be stranger if what you describe never happened.

But I just watched Persepolis last night

I thought about Gex the Gecko earlier and then someone made a thread, on Yea Forums no less, about him. This shit blows my mind

I have amnesia because of a car crash. But it has been 2 years now since the crash and my memory never really returned in any appreciable way.
Kinda feels like shit honestly. None of your "loved ones" really love you. They're just waiting for the old you to come back and this new you to be a bad memory. Current me feels incredibly fragile and temporary and old me coming back is basically my death.

Same here

Sounds like a fucking X-File

Losing your long term memory the way it's portrayed in film and tv is unfortunately a myth. You can lose it for hours, maybe days. But the meme of "amnesia" is just a plot device. That's the truth of it.

Yes. A guy at my high school got it and we all had to reintroduce ourselves. It was sad, all his friends had to basically get to know him all over again and their shared memories were gone.

I wish so I could forget that shit movie

underrated, the thinking man's post

This happens to me with video games all the time
Fuck you, I was just thinking about this too

literally got a text msg from the conservative party (from some "chick" obviously) asking if they could count on my vote. guaranteed jewgle tells the gov't about everything you look at and do on the computer.

Even if you're roleplaying this is a good perspective I will keep in mind if it happens to someone I know

Based schizophrenia anons. Gangstalking delusions are fun.

Yes. I've been working as a caregiver for over a year now and the lady still has no idea who I am.

kino

yes but in real life it's like in Memento

keyno

Dude what the fuck? I LITERALLY just watched this movie an hour ago and had the same exact thoughts when I saw this thread.

Is the simulation crumbling?

Hello?

the officer is turbo redditcore and spreading across the internet like wildfire

>dude other people who spend a lot of their free time watching movies, also recently watched a modern, popular film, how?

Nice try, Matrix drone.

>Is amnesia a real thing?
Yes, my wife doesn't remember anything before 2016 due to a car crash.

There are a ton of threads you just ignore by default because they're about something that you haven't seen or doesn't interest you, as soon as you become aware of that thing you see them all and it seems weird.

Oooh I’ve never seen a post like you before~ dun dun dun dun dun dun
