In the film Full Metal Jacket...

In the film Full Metal Jacket, was it ethically sound to lie to in the military newspaper about false achievements if the intention was to boost morale in the soldiers? Was Joker right to question this decision or do the ends justify the means?

That depends
Did we win the war?

Against communism? Yes.

Depends.
On one hand, the bibble says you shouldn't lie and since the government is fine with lying with this, no matter how harmless that lie may be, who knows what else are they lying about?
Note that it was different in the 60's than it is today, where it's kind of given even for the normies that the gov fucks you over and has tons of dirty lies and secrets. 'Nam was the wakeup call for a lot of people.
On the other hand, lying like this makes the soldiers have faith in the US and in themselves, feel better in general and perform better, leading in slightly less casualities and maybe better results, while installing more fear into the zipperheads.
There's no objective answer. It's up to your personal judgement to see if you agree with this or not

14 dead VC/NVA for every 1 dead burger (Vietnam's own estimates) isn't really a loss either.
What exactly would you classify that as?

But Tet was really a US victory and ultimately destroyed the NVA? Only for the Jew media in the US to tell the public the US was devastated in reality they suffered minimal material and manpower losses?

The Soviets lost way more than the Germans. Who won there?

American Nation building was still a wild success with Taiwan, S Korea, and Japan. All of whom remain vassals to the US. 3/4 pretty good.

wars are not a body count contest

They're in your sphere of influence not your vassals lmao

You're Israel's vassal, for illustration

So how come the US lost the vietnam war? Didn't they outspend the gooks like 100 to 1? Lack of fighting spirit perhaps

Parking an entire fleet in Japan’s harbors does indeed make them a vassal state. Israel is the US’s vassal state there buddy, Israel has no standing army worth a shit.

If Israel is your vassal how come they decide all your foreign and domestic policy?

Tet was a US tactical victory, and resulted in the destruction of most of the Viet Cong's original cadres and fighters.

It was a strategic victory for North Vietnam in terms of propaganda.

Technically the US achieved a victory in that the Treaty of Paris was signed on their terms.

However 3 years after the US left the North Vietnamese broke the treaty and conquered the South.

>discussing anything related to government, war, military, ect
>always devolves into JEWS JEWS JEWS

every. single. time.

>Technically the US won because they left after getting their asses handed to them and then the North Vietnamese did what they wanted to the rest of the country
I don't know about you but this doesn't really seem like a victory to me

>America lost Vietna-

Probably because you're being passive-aggressively disingenuous.

>Israel has no standing army worth a shit

They do. Think about it for a second.

Is that right, which part of what I said wasn't true?

The ends never justify the means. You're taking shortcuts.

>don't talk about the Jews

Hello, Frankenshekel.

WHY ARE THERE NO WOMEN SITTING AT THE TABLE

Kek

Who could it be now

>Is that right
It's why you felt you had to rewrite my post instead of addressing it like a man.
*shrugs*

Look, Hans, you lost. No amount of crying will resurrect your meth-addicted vegetarian failed artist mentally unstable faggot mustache furher.

I'm glad you decided to admit your defeat.

The gulf of tonkin incident, like 9/11 or the uss liberty attack, was another false flag by your tribesmen designed to incite a casus belli
