15 yr old me would have shit his pants to go see this.
>Orange County
Best original song by The Offspring is in that flick

imagine listening to these bands past 13

>he doesnt nostalgia-listen to old tunes sometimes
It’s fun. Plus The Offspring’s first 4-5 albums are top tier in the genre and their guitarist and drummer had actual talent. Sum 41 was never talented but fun to put on at a party full a 30 year olds for throwback.

The whole punk thing (90s/early00s punk, current punks is all trannies) doesnt really work when the band is all rich old men. The angst is all fabricated at that point. Their stuff after they got big sucks.

you don't know what you're talking about

This.
Offspring was a legitimately good band. The first few records were great. Even some of their later work is really good.
Sum 41 was always kind of bad, but they made some Cathy songs and put on a good show.
Anyway, their respective time has passed but it’s sad to see them performing in bum fuck towns instead of real cities. Moose Jaw? Really?

What part is wrong? Self-Titled, Ignition, Smash, Ixnay, and maaybe Americana are pretty highly regarded for 90s punk/pop punk albums. I hesitate calling Offspring pop punk because he doesnt have that shitty poppy voice.

Sum 41 has no talent. Or, I should say, they rarely show it. Brownsound and that Steve drummer are actually quite good but their style doesnt lend to them showing off very much. And yes, people age ~28-35 love when you throw on an old Sum 41 track at a party.

Nothing I said was wrong.

Why is this board obsessed with Sum 41?

Nostalgia to when half this board peaked in life at age 12

Ignition is soooo good.

Ssh

Why is everything a place in Cucknada?

I just looked that up and is got a pop. of 33000, that's like a large village, what happened?

Midsize towns like that are actually pretty good money when you’re a performer because there’s fuck all to do so everyone will come out.

>offspring
>sum 41
Yikes

But there were infinitely better bands then that shit.

what a lame concert. id go just to hit on young sluts

>mfw live in moose jaw saskatchewan
What in the actual fuck, sum 41 and offspring are coming? Everyone who lives here are retired farmers and unemployed natives

i saw sum 41 at some warped tour years ago and the lead singer was fucking wasted and completely fucked up the song

Looks like he became another casualty of society.

Name 3

When was it? He had a whole going sober thing cuz he almost died from liver failure or something

Top kek

Kamloops reporting in. Sum 41 was here a while back but never seen the Offspring. Im in to go.

>live in Detroit

Sum 41 was better than the other pop-punk bands of the early 00's like Good Charlotte and shit like that.

Don't feel too bad, my city put in a basketball fieldhouse to try and draw all the area high school tournaments and somehow forgot to put in any locker rooms or showers.

>tfw Offspring's Original Prankster was the theme of my youth and descriptor of my daily actions at the time
Groovy, man.

yeah our gigantic multimillion dollar stadium forgot parking

They were the next rung of reconstitution, although Sum did try to keep up I consider them to be a whole over level of mallshit

For me, it's

Agreed. 90% of those bands were the same couple chord patterns on repeat with a whiny voice over top. I started learning bass/guitar during the peak of this era of music and within 2 weeks I was bored of this kind of shit because it was too easy. But Sum 41's guitarist took some pride in switching it up a bit and he could riff a good solo. Those were fun songs. Offspring and Billy Talent too.

Wasn't Good Charlotte emo?

The Faculty.

Very poppy pop-punk and very light emo are indistinguishable genres.

Yea Forums music threads are so much better than Yea Forums

What’s with all the Moose Jaw fags on /tv?
>Regina fag here. I’d say fuck Moose Jaw, but our city sucks too.

I mean, 95% of that shit is the same 4 chords.

Thank the record labels for forcing that trash on us.

I'll always like Offspring's Smash. I mean come on how can you hate a pop song that has a Surf Rock guitar riff?

youtube.com/watch?v=1jOk8dk-qaU

its just two of us mang

Yeah this isn't really a new discovery. My point was that, on occasion, Sum 41 broke from that pattern or at least riffed on top of the chords a bit which 90% of their genre didn't. There were dozens of popular pop-punk/emo bands that literally just palm-muted power chords the entire time in common progressions. SUPER FUCKING BORING.

The Offspring fucked around with the format a good amount more, especially their first 4 albums. And they did off-key progressions often or other things to change the sound.

lool at the shit that gets played hourly on the radio these days

Imagine unironically going to this and "rocking out" to shit like Pretty Fly for a White guy and boomers in thier mid 50's singing songs about weed and teen angst

Ixnay on the Hombre is my favourite album of all time. It just hits everything just right.

MY FRIENDS GOT A GIRLFRIEND AND HE HATES THAT BITCH

Canada with it's finger on the pulse again I see. Who are you having after this? Wheatus and Bowling for Soup?

Yeah that's pretty lame, but at least it isn't so painfully sad of an life experience like your average zoomer has.

Unironically Zoomers don’t mosh at rock concerts like the pussies they are. I was shocked when I saw it the first time. I would love to go to a show with some hardended boomers and get a little crazy in the pit, it has been years.

Dave Baksh is one of the most based poos on the planet

Attached: 2017_RiP_-_Sum_41_-_Dave_Baksh_-_by_2eight_-_8SC8087.jpg (1629x2048, 1.34M)

The whole phones out and just standing there thing Zoomers do is weird. Back in the day you’d have little mosh pits break out at a fucking Celine Dion concert. What happened??

Remember when Axl Rose and The Offspring had beef? Lmao

Love when minorities play guitar. I don't know why.

Doesn't it make it cringey like Facebook where your granny is at the offspring concert?

Granny at a rock show is based. wtf is wrong with zoomers

All boomers that were hardcore are now totally fucked up from it though because it turned out moshing is really bad for you. I still see a group sometimes and although they must only be early 40s they look like 70 year olds with canes and flame pattern shirts

They're too busy trying to capture the moment instead of living it since they think they need to prove they had that experience to gain social points in front of their peers.

>people age ~28-35 love when you throw on an old Sum 41 track at a party
mongos who never left high school mentally, you mean. defend your sad inability to ever mature your tastes however you wish.

I still love All killer no filler and Does look infected?. I liked Chuck too but I don't want to hear metal when I listen to them. The albums after that got way too many slow gay ass songs and the rest is just boring for me now. Few months ago they played here, my friends went and said there were no young people only 25-30+ (we are 27). Zoomers barely listen to rock anymore, when these bands were big even the most normalfag chads and stacies liked their famous songs.

>he's a fucking loser who stopped socializing after high school
Kid, get a grip. You ever see an old boomer get excited when The Eagles or some shit comes on the radio? It's just that but at a social gathering for 30 year olds who have nostalgia for a different thing.

Trust me, I know you have issues interacting with people just from your one post ahahahah

You guys have the worst taste in pop punk

Attached: 716UBXtmVfL._SY355_.jpg (354x355, 29K)

What do you mean by never left high school mentality? You know people still party and have fun when they get old, right? And music is often playing when this happens, right? And people often dance or sing to the music, especially as the night goes on, right? And that when a song that everyone at the party loved 15 years ago comes on, it brings back good memories of youth and people get excited at the shared experience and sing along and dance together, right?

I honestly have no idea how you could even derive the idea that liking music from when you were young sometimes means you never left high school....... unless you are still in high school. Which means you’re a retarded sooner. Fuck you.
