Modern or what?
Doesn't matter really
Michelangelo Antonioni, Luchino Visconti, Federico Fellini, Mario Bava, Dario Argento, Pietro Germi, Ettore Scola, Mario Monicelli, Elio Petri, Valerio Zurlini, Lucio Fulci, Giuseppe Tornatore, Marco Bellocchio, Vittorio De Sica, Roberto Rossellini, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Ermanno Olmi, Taviani brothers, Paolo Sorrentino, Matteo Garrone. There is also bunch of giallo films so you can watch those. Italy is full of kino.
My favorites are La Notte, L'Avventura, L'Eclisse, Il Gattopardo, Profondo Rosso, Rocco and His Brothers and Blood and Black Lace. Antonioni, Bava and Visconti are my favorite Italian directors.
Check out Il Traditore, came out recently on torrents. It's from Bellocchio.
Loro is one of the worst of Sorrentino

>You know Antonioni, have you seen The Eclipse?
>Yes it's a film..
>I fell asleep, great film, great director antonioni
Idk any Italian movie past 1990. I just keep rewatching Baba, Argento, and Fulci.
"ACAB"
The only one from Sorrentino that i haven't seen is the one with Sean Penn. Is that better than Loro? Loro is the worst one from him so far.
No, that IS the worst
The italian segment in Life on Earth
The work of actress Valentina Nappi.
I'm in no hurry to watch it then.
Rebecca Volpetti also
old or recent?
Give it a try to Garrone's Reality, pretty damn good and criminally underrated.
Also Tornatore's The Best Offer isn't talk very much.
One of my old favourite however is The Battle of Algiers
Watched the og suspiria recently and it was very good, especially the photography
Santa Maradona, amazing performance by Libero de Rienzo
Aldo Giovanni e Giacomo's trilogy is the best trilogy ever made, period
Boris il film is one of the best comedy ever, check it out if you liked AGG or, dare I say, Hot Fuzz
Don't know about the older stuff, I've got some catch up to do
She's a real qt with 10/10 legs and ass when she isn't covered in drool and black semen.
this must be the place is actually great
I like Sorrentino but his biopics are a fucking slog to watch unless you're REALLY into Italian politics (ie: no one ever)
Il Divo was really good but kind of confusing at first if you don't know Italian politics. Il Traditore is a good companion piece to Il Divo.
