Why didn't it work?
Why didn't it work?
>Budget:$100,000,000 (estimated)
>Opening Weekend USA: $53,505,326, 7 April 2019
>Gross USA: $140,371,656
>Cumulative Worldwide Gross: $364,471,656
I mean even with $75m in marketing, which I doubt was that much, the movie earned good money for the Hollywood overlords.
It did
Kid's movie basically. Dumb fucking choice. Another suicide squad would have been better.
Kids film is better than an angsty teenagers film. At least not annoying.
Plus Shazam doesn't feel like people behind it didn't know what the fuck are they doing.
It doesn't matter if it worked. The DCEU was dead the moment they sent Batfleck packing. None of these movies matter anymore.
It was Green Lantern all over again. At least GL had the alien world to spice it up a bit.
>try to make funny movie
>isn't funny
I liked it, no bully pls.
the DCEU is the funny joke itself
>cynical depressed 14 year old
>turns into Shazam
>becomes a 10 year old autismo
shit writing
suicide squad was a fucking mess. Possibly the worst (high budget) movie I've ever seen
Shazam (Formerly Chuck)
I don't get it.
What did he mean by that?
It work, in my heart.
yeah this annoyed me too, Shazam was more entertaining character than him as kid
It did work well like the first post says but
>Why didn't it work?
Literally because it wasn't made by Disney. If it was, it would have made 800M easily, maybe even more
Maybe he was just depressed and gaining superpowers and actually starting to connect with someone helped him.
kys
True, Hollywood overlords are just greedier than ever now
The Billy actor was pretty shit. The other two acted circles around him.
It did though
Felt like a comfy 90's movie desu
it was great, way better than infinity war or endgame
>Angel was born in Phoenix, Arizona,[3] and lived in Paradise Valley, Arizona. His parents are Jody and Coco Angel, and he is the oldest of three siblings, with a brother and sister.[4] He is Jewish.[4] He sings and plays the guitar.[5]
It’s getting a sequel
Better than the last 15 MCUck flicks combined
nah
awful pacing
????
You can't into BO, especially blockbuster BO.
Marketing budget was AT LEAST same as the production one, and out of those $364m studio didn't saw more than 150-170m
In US kinoplexes take up to 50% of the income, while outside it can be much worse, like UK taking 60% on average, and China possibly much more.
It was BO failure by all means.
>Marketing budget was AT LEAST same as the production one
no
>Marketing budget was AT LEAST same as the production one
Hahahahha get the fuck out disneyshill
>not understanding how marketing work
Well, I greentext it, but tbf it's not that much of a common knowledge. Still, you rarely find blockbuster with marketing budget smaller than production one. It's not 2005, ads online eat a lot of cash, mot to mention getting celebs, influencers etc.
And no, to get Disney tier buzz you probably looking at marketing spendings exceeding production by like 75-100%
