He is honestly much more intersting than Rey
An ex-stormtrooper character had so much potential to be intersting and both movies completely failed to flesh Finn's character out. We never got to see what a unique perspective Finn would have being literally raised in the First Order, but instead he's just another interchangeable rebel freedom fighter (and DO NOT even get me started on Rian wasting what could have and should have been character development on cashing in woke points on that goddamn casino planet B plot). But even what little scraps we got still beats the shit out of Rey's backstory.

this. cut out rey completely and just have some ptsd storm trooper running from one conflict to another. never really joining the rebels but only helping them because he is a deserter caught up in something far bigger than he is.

The scene at the beginning of TFA where Poe helps Finn escape is probably the best in any of these films
Its a complete waste that these two characters with a good potential friendship barely even share scenes over the next two films, could have been a fun buddy-cop-esque relationship.
