I’ve never seen a movie that accurately portrays clinical depression. Does one really exist?
What’s the most accurate portrayal of clinical depression in film?
"Sleep", directed by Andy Warhol
Not his best work, and I'm not defending the stupidly asinine parts of the movie, but Gaspar Noe's Love is pretty spot on.
the man who sleeps
That part at the end of s1 of Sopranos where he doesn't get out of bed comes pretty close.
If only we could all have someone try to assassinate us to kick is out of it.
The girl in Dark Horse
it's weebshit, but A Silent Voice has a pretty good depiction of showing how the idea of forming new connections and relationships seems futile to someone afflicted
adrrss?
I'm good. Thanks to LSD and a good woman.
But one time at the worst of it I almost broke my leg in a river, which could easily lead to drowning. And my thoughts were entirely made up of "I don't want to die, I don't want to die" and honestly it cured me of depression for a couple months.
Melancholia ( I envy the caring sister. Nurses in a psyche ward care more than family nurses.)
Maybe, Cria Cuervos (the mother)
Just like depression, these kinds of films don’t exist.
Fucking man up, you pussy. Right back. Or just give in and be a bitch your whole life
*fight back
For me, it’s love in motion
Pulse is not about depression but it most accurately depicts what it feels like to be depressed. Dullness, numbness, and detachment.
Eternal Sunshine
Was the guy in that movie actually depressed, or did he just want to mind his own business? He seemed to enjoy being solitary rather than being around students or other people.
Detachment
