I've been making a list of classic horror films I want to watch with gf for halloween, and all of october / november. What would you fucks reccomend?
We're both getting into classic and sci-fi surreal horror, and are planning to watch these: >Texas Chainsaw Massacre >Cube >Hellraiser >Even Horizon >Evil Dead/ED2 (I'm forcing her to watch this one...) >Re-Animator (this one too) >It (1990)
We've already watched >Pet Semetary (1989) >Alien >Predator >Nightmare on Elm Street >Friday the 13th
So yeah, do you fucks have a planning list? and what would you reccomend? We usually watch a bunch of Tarantino, Wes Anderson, and trash films on Netflix, so we want to go deep into Horror now.
If you want surreal sci-fi, you can’t go much better than Phantasm. It’s about an interdimensional alien going around and turning corpses into zombie dwarves for an unknown reason. He uses floating metal balls filled with blades and drills as his primary weapon, and the whole series has a dream-like, mind-bending feel to it.
I'll recommend you some films that don't get mentioned as much as some of the big ones since I'm sure you're already aware of most of those. >Dog Soldiers >Witchfinder General >Frailty >Mothman Prophecies >Prince of Darkness >Near Dark
Xavier Ross
You got to watch The Thing.
Kayden Watson
Demon Wind Demons Demons 2 Demon Knight
John Cooper
the thing
Sebastian Sanchez
Very bizzare but I like Tetsuo the ironman. Certainly not for everyone.
Alexander King
Children of the corn is a classic banger the original halloween The original terminator actually works pretty well as a horror movie, even if it does that the look of an action movie pumpkin head is a good one gremlins is a great horror comedy gremlins 2 is one of the greatest movies ever made
Nathaniel Bailey
Added to the list

I've watch it myself, but I gotta make gf watch it, yeah
I like my fair share of Jap stuff. I'm guessing that's jap. We have some Junji Ito manga at home (Uzumaki, Gyo) so we're also open to that.
Lincoln King
tetsuo is an incredible movie, but the fact that the director burned pictures of jessie owens to signify an orgasm was the funniest fucking thing
Cooper Kelly
Disregard this user, this movie is fucking terrible.
Nathaniel Walker
Demons, alright
Children of the Corn!!! How could I forget!. All added
Thomas Torres
>Prince of Darkness
Fucking A. I'd add Return of the Living Dead, Romero's original Dead trilogy, From Beyond.and In the Mouth of Madness.
Easton Bailey
just checked Rotten Tomatoes scores, and it looks like a shit-fest. 100% from critics, but 50% from audiences... sounds awful to me. Imma disregard it for now.
Aaron Cruz
Puppet Master Ghoulies Critters Tales from the Crypt (1972)
Cameron Long
I'm adding, also using this name just for convenience, so that you know I'm adding them.
Jordan Rivera
The first 8 Friday the 13th movies are comfy. Ditto the first 5 Nightmare on Elm Streets Demons, as someone else said Dead Alive Hellraiser 2 is the last good one High Tension The Blob 1988 The Burning Opera 1987 Zombie 1979 Return of the Living Dead The Prowler
Chase Butler
adding, adding
adding the ones that are different, but we're probably only watching one from each franchise. I'd love to watch all of Phantasm with her, but y'know, it's hard, and we have 31 days only, we're going to prepare on November for christmas films and shit.
I met Tarantino in a bakery and I told him I loved him in Phantasm and asked if he ever kept in touch with Reggie Bannister and what he was up to. I also mentioned Bubba Ho-Tep and if he was ever gonna work with Don again. He just glared at me and power walked out.
Read an article a few weeks later and he had gotten a haircut and different style. Thought that was weird.
Phantasm is peak comfy because the protags are objective and capable good guys up against indescribable evil.
Hunter Foster
give wolf creek 1 and 2 a try real ripper of a time especially 2
Nathaniel Rivera
lol. He really does look like Angus Scrimm. They made like five Phantasm movies. The last two were extremely low-budget, so YMMV. Reggie is the main hero in the last three.
Ayden Cooper
if you have a shudder account i highly recommend marathoning the joe bob briggs stuff
Cooper Walker
Nosferatu The Shining anything Hitchcock Bram Stoker's Dracula The Fly An American Werewolf in London Dog Soldiers The Mummy The Exorcist
Tyler Reyes
The Mummy (1932) I Walked with a Zombie (1943) Curse of the Demon (1957) Diabolique (1955) The City of the Dead (1960)
All entertaining. Classic horror is great because it relied on good scripts, camera work and acting rather than special effects and gore. But that's just my personal opinion.
Night Of The Demons, The Blob, Gojira and Rodan are all good ones
Ayden Wood
I'd say Puppet Master 2 and Ghoulies 2 are better movies than the originals. They're more fun anyway. The People Under the Stairs and Nightbreed are good ones I haven't seen mentioned yet.
Add The Blair Wench Project for a solid triple feature.
Juan Bennett
Add Planet of Vampires to Brava's list for space horror.
Cameron Hall
Classic horror movies don’t hold up well, it’s not like other movies where the campiness is kino. It just gets boring at best and totally grating at worst. From generations when a knock on the door and a head turning 360 degrees made people shit themselves. Stick to horror movies from like ‘95 onward.
Joshua Torres
HAUSUUUUUUU
Kayden Flores
An American Werewolf in London
Luis White
The autopsy of Jane doe and you really shouldn't do that
Parker Long
Return of the Living Dead is one of the best horror movies of all time.
