The 15:17 to Paris surprised me. It's not often where you see a movie based on a real life terrorist attack, and the people who prevent the attack play themselves in the movie. It was an interesting experiment and a good showcase of actual heroism. Realism without being too melodramatic.
Flags of Our Fathers/Letters from Iwo Jima were enjoyable as well. Bird was also good.
