Comedy is not a place to make things heavy and express the weight of our troubles, it's a place to make light of things, and laugh at our troubles. Hacks like gadsby think they're being woke and deep for forcing an audience of people who paid for humor to "take things seriously ffs" and talk about "the real issues", thinking their applause is genuine when they were essentially forced to sit through that and applaud or get made to feel alienated and guilty (holy shit I even just now remembered how she singled out and kicked out some heckler who yelled "where are the jokes?" and anyone who dared laugh at that).
Real comedians have been far more "woke" than her, and had far more important societal points to make, tackling greater issues, and MOST IMPORTANTLY OF ALL: Did it through their comedy. They made the people they sympathized with laugh, they made their "opponents" and "enemies" laugh, they made everyone laugh WHILE realizing how fucked up it all is, so that we could still think about it and take its seriously later, because what the fuck else are you going to do later? Make jokes about it? That's what the comedian already did! THAT'S WHY THE MORE YOU TAKE YOURSELF SERIOUSLY THE MORE PEOPLE WILL TAKE THE PISS OUT OF YOU BECAUSE HUMANS AREN'T ROBOTS AND WE HAVE A SENSE OF FUCKING HUMOR EVEN IN OUR DARKEST TIMES. YOU CUNT.
