Yeah, we all know what the first scene of the show and the first chapter of the books was about. There was always the underlying notion that the war for the throne was pointless, because global war--I mean White Walkers were the real problem. But it turns out that nuclear war--I mean Daenerys was the problem all along, because everybody is a slave to their genes...unless they have Stark genes. Then they are always good and get to have everything in the end.

Because your eyes are open and you can see all the show's failings. With no more episodes you realize this was really it, all the mystery, drama, theories, loose ends, tension, characters, arcs, bad writing, all led to this. It's replaced Lost now as the worst drawn out shit show. People are even attacking Westworld because they're also getting a shorter season and had a trash one already

Depends for what Reason you thought it was fine. Visually it was impressive. The Soundtrack was flawless. If you only watch it for the sake of 'cool dragons, bro' it's a good experience but you won't even find a tad of good writing in that Season.

Like I said, fill all of this stuff in at your own leisure/preference. I do a similar thing with Star Wars, or The Matrix, or Terminator, or really any series that potentially had/has a great ending, but is then ruined either slowly or quickly by increasingly shit writing.

Me, personally, I like to imagine Daenerys giving up on the notion of sailing to Westeros, and instead opting to rule the East with a new kingdom of her own. She'd still break the wheel, by rejecting her past ties to Westeros and instead ruling over Essos. But it's all a matter of perspective, of course.

then the kingdom itself is unbelievably massive for its level of technology and population density, then you've things like the Wall, that tower, the rock, etc.
the series largely ignores things like linguistic change and drift over time and space
it's over the top and it's clearly on purpose for fantastical reasons, while most of the series is comparably low fantasy it's not realistic and I don't think GRRM has ever said anything to imply otherwise
