it was, but blomkamp's subsequent movies have retroactively made it worse

Bad taste. Elysium and Chappie are great.

that doesn't make sense

its fantastic if you ask me. it was amazing when i watched it atleast

>tfw lost all hope for a sequel

It's a fun movie. I don't get why he would transform into an alien by getting some alien fuel on him

also why the aliens lived in a slum even though they had ultra advanced technology

Yeah it's a cool flick, you can watch it.

The marketing was neat at the time.

First shootout between the bots, Matt Damon, and the sweetie man makes Elysium worth watching on its own

if someone did that now, it would be called racist white supremacist nazi shit

i figured it was just the breakdown of their alien social system but could be they were also just dumb drones

This. The one guy at the beginning explained that they’re basically worker bees that lost whatever leadership they had

>also why the aliens lived in a slum even though they had ultra advanced technology
user did you even watch the movie? The aliens were 99% dumb worker drones with like 2 from the intelligent/leader caste left.

the fuel was alien cum

it's slow in the beginning i also like how sa blacks managed to be even more of a deterrence than the bugs

It's ok. I wish they kept it as a fake documentary the whole time. The intro really grabbed me but the actual plot lost me.

The guns and special effects were A+ which made me sad when I realized Microsoft had this guy locked down to make 3 Halo movies and they decided against it

They explained why the aliens were dumb, all the leaders died off except for Christopher and they all became aimless drones.

unlikely given that the whole movie is a ham fisted apartheid metaphor

Definition of kino, if you ask me.

Seeing it as a kid was kino...

This made me hate it when it came out, out of principle, but now I think it was great
