because I don't want to see Yea Forums shitposting about it
delete this thread if it isn't too late

Just do as the man says OP.
I also got into it late and made the mistake of making a thread asking why no one told me about it, I get it, I've been there.
Better off just not letting Yea Forums shitpost about it.

You know, I didnt think of that. Maybe you're right.

Is NoHo Hank the greatest character in the history of television?

It's a Dexter parody

That's one of the most retarded takes I've read on this board, good job user

It's pretty great. Also like how they get the details about Marine stuff right and now just put in generic military stuff that might be from the army.

It really isn't.

>character looks like Dexter
>character is a killer
>character is le awkward

It’s like the second or third highest order, OP. It’s a really good show but don’t get carried away, it’s not Sopranos

Sopranos is overrated.

>muh sopranos

Why is she such a selfish bitch?

The supermarket scene was fucking wild. Love that show

Barry doesn’t even come close and that’s objective. Say what you will but Sopranos doesn’t have Marvel quips or compulsive cliffhangers. It also is way more ambitious in scope and storytelling and the cinematography isn’t just modern indie static symmetrical shots. Also in terms of acting Hader vs Gandolfini is not an argument you want to have. I loved watching Barry but it’s not “”kino””

Season 1 was great, but season 2 was weak at points. Still good, though

Woman

>Marvel quips
>compulsive cliffhangers
Can you try again without using meaningless buzzwords?

because even tho i loved him in anything he had done before that, i got tired of his 27/7 constipated "i cant act" face

Unhealthy coping mechanism after her time with Sam

There is mindless quipping in literally every episode of Barry. If you want me to elaborate, I mean low-effort attempts at comedy to make the audience “comfortable” as opposed to taking itself seriously. As far as the cliffhangers, how is that a buzzword? Almost every episode has a cliffhanger for no real reason other than baiting you to watch the next one. Sopranos doesn’t have to rely on any of that because it’s just more mature of a story.

>comedy doesnt take itself seriously
Who could have possibly seen this coming?

I'm not the one comparing the two, that's some faggot: nor does that negate what I said. The Sopranos is overrated.

Which is fine until they expect you to care about the characters, which this show clearly does.

bold statement user, maybe you earned a trip to slip and fall school

>t. Breaking Bad fan

I liked it.

I'd actually argue that the comedy acts as a juxtaposition to what's happening. Noho Hank is ridiculous, but he's still a fucking mobster that doesn't actually care if most other people live or die. Barry wants to be a good person, wants to see himself as a good person, but has almost zero qualms killing people that get in his way.

If you like Barry, you'd also like Patriot on Amazon prime. Very similar plot but with better cinematography and drier/subtler humor. It's really good.

Wait, there is a season 2 ?

Yes, get out and watch it before you get spoiled. It’s great

>plz don't insult my mediocre show
I liked it too, but while Gandolfini is great, that's about it.

Yes

Alright, thanks fren

It isn't.

if you're going to shitpost you can't be so careful with your words, you're just going to get ignored.

I guess each season finale will show him plunging further and further downward

At the pace they’ve set up, I can’t see the show lasting longer than one more season without getting either too absurd or just plain tiresome.

It seems like a show where theres a vision of where they want to take it, rather than just looking for the continual renewal so hopefully it doesnt drag on

Right. Next season he’ll have to kill Fuchs and possibly Cousineau, and his career as an actor is reaching its natural peak and plateau so there isn’t really much more with the core concept they can do outside of that stuff. It would definitely be better as a shorter more contained story opposed to sprawling out with many more seasons.
