She didn't die because Klein saved her because he knew about the next calamity from Gordon. The reason I say it's a bit underwhelming is because I don't really feel as if Klein got closure over his wife's death nor did he find out more about the Mothman. In the end the Mothman is just a natural phenomenon, same as a tornado or a hurricane that just passes by and vanishes as soon as the prophecies are fulfilled.

I'd say the movie hints at it being more than just a natural phenomenon; there's definitely an intelligence behind it, whose motives and probably nature are beyond human understanding. I love the fact that the Mothman isn't clearly portrayed as just a monster, alien, interdimensional being, spirit or whatever, and that's shown on screen only a few times and under different guises. It leaves a lot to one's imagination.
