Nostalgia about 2009-2012

>Nostalgia about 2009-2012
retards like that actually exist, how could you be nostalgic of something who is not old at all?

just to compare, in 2004 being nostalgic of 1998 made sense because stuff and things happened, just accept that the 2008/2010's are all the same and no fucking identity except the same fucking shit, we should call it "the no identity decade" or something like that.

most people on this site are around ~20 years old probably younger so 10 years is a significant portion of their life

Stuff and things happened

supa hot fire

what? literally nothing of good happened except shit.

>he thinks a period of time can have "identity"
>he thinks he has an "identity" because he was alive during a period of time

That's still stuff and things

It boggles my mind that every generation tries to shit on the previous one with the same shit that the older generation shitted on theirs. I don't understand how collectively people have this much lack of self awareness.

What the fuck, are you like 40?

People have nostalgia for the LeafyIsHere era of YouTube. Nostalgia is literally just a function of age.

2012 can't be lumped in with 2009 and 2010. There was a rapid cultural shift that took place between 2011-2013.

I finish HS in 07 and never saw a single scene girl. Always found it odd how big of a meme this was to people just a couple years younger than me.

That’s a pretty long fucking long time. I’ll say animation has sucked for this whole time but there’s at least been anime people could get nostalgic over.

I remember couple years after graduating seeing teenagers dress like that once. Feel like it had to be a costume tho.

I was a goth kid so I always found them hot in a slutty type of way

The good news is that everyone goes through their anti-nostalgia phase once, then they continue to grow up and accept that time is a constant.
The bad news is that people are still being born and going through that phase, so it’s never going to end. The years will change, but the principle won’t.

Fuck I miss emo sluts

When media rehashes the same shit but worse over and over you get a constant source of friction.

post more my man this thread was shit to begin with just turn it into emo chicks(guys)

>people are nostalgic for things that they saw in their childhood
I know this news is a bit shocking, you retarded millennial, but it's the truth

what race was Eddy?

small guy so doubt he was anything over 100m sprint

A lot of shit happened, but it's kind of strange to be nostalgic about the middle of the Great Recession.

Why do Americans get upset about younger Americans enjoying a different flavor of pop culture jew slop than the one they grew up with?

Is this what happens when you country has no real history or culture?

The US has history and culture, but kids are taught it’s racist and misogynistic. Better just watch whatever the tv says to.

Anyone who cares about culture is retarded

yeah America doesnt have a culture. it's really sad and artificial

anglo

If you legitimately think your childhood was better than someone else's because you were born some number of years before them, you're either retarded or under 16

2001 to 2008 were objectivley worse than the 80s and 90s. But i will admit thibfs got a bit better from 2009 to 2011, then the smart phone ruined everything and things have sucked worse than ever since

You honestly think the cock suckers with 500 home media shows/devices are on the same level as someone from 1950-60?
lel

Nostalgia doesn't have a limit on what timeframe you can feel it for. You can feel nostalgic for something 6 months ago, or 6 years ago

This.
The world was so much better back in February, but then March came around and ruined everything, at least until March 9th, but then the 12th came along, ugh!

>Nostalgia is limited purely to macro events and your outlook/feelings on society/the world

DESU I have no idea what happened in that time period, not in the world or my life.

>just accept that the 2008/2010's are all the same and no fucking identity except the same fucking shit, we should call it "the no identity decade" or something like that.
The 2010's do have an identity, we just aren't clear on what it is yet because we're still living through the decade. Once we enter the 2020's, the identity of the 2010's will become evident.

this op is skinner

After 9/11 we can separate the current century into two, the pre-Ragecomics and the post-Ragecomics. There was quite the cultural shift in between, that mostly affected the internet, which in turn affected social media which in turn affected the newer generations.

>Yup, I remember the good old days *siiiiip* you youngins these days will never get the same genuine experience I had in 1998 because of those stuff and things. Face it user, the pop culture you ate up just isn't as good as the colours and noise I watched as a kid.

I used to drink those white monsters in middle school, and I was born in 1999. Why is it used to portray boomers?

used to fap to scene girls drunkenly masturbating on their private stickam room all the time

Dumbass, the meme is about Gen Xers who have reached their 30s and are now starting to behave exactly like their Boomer parents

That doesn't change the fact that 80% of the people who drink white monsters are under 25

It's literally basedboys and triggerhair girls, among the other hipster variations over the past 10 years are what people will dress up as for 2010's parties decades from now. Maybe with some black fashion mixed in for people that want to tryhard.
