The more competent and human sounding dialogue in the sequels tricks people into thinking they're better movies, but you can tell there was no passion involved in the making of them. The Prequels are stories George wanted to tell, and I think that really comes thru. Plus, the lore behind the prequels, and the EU under George was vastly better. If he hadn't sold Star Wars we would be getting 10/10 SW games until the end of time.

If you'd ever watched any of the behind the scenes extra feature documentaries from the prequel DVD's you'd know this is not true.

The prequels have garbage dialogue and some really flat performances, but also some real strokes of visual brilliance and some genuinely fantastic imagery. They also still have a lot of charm and heart. Their worldbuilding and production design is still the best Star Wars has ever had, and RoTS is arguably John Williams' career best. They've got a lot of flaws but I think the sum is better than its parts. At the very least, the Prequels have a consistent story arc with an end in mind, and they introduce new rules to the world without breaking immersion too much.
Mouse Wars films may have some better acting but that is literally it. The one thing that is consistent about all of them is the unrealized potential due to shit writing and a complete lack of respect for and understanding of the source material (Rogue One is a possible exception to this). John Williams is phoning it home in all of them. Production design is absolute shit. Characters that have potential to be awesome, like Finn, are nothing but hollow cariacatures. There's no internal consistency with the already established rules of the SW films. There's no respect for the characters of the previous films.

Everything in Mouse Wars is either a complete re-hash of OT stuff with a Steve Jobs coat of paint or it's a bunch of same-looking ugly, orange/tan-grey pig-faced aliens.
The only exception to this is Rogue One, which managed to have unique and fresh character and ship and world designs that still felt like Star Wars.
There's a reason toy sales have absolutely tanked in the Mouse Wars era. None of their stuff is cool looking or new so no kids want it.

2 is unironically the worst. I get what George was trying to do with the separatist plot, but all he did was make it convoluted and dumb. Dooku could have been kino, but he had some shit tier dialogue.
3 is pretty boring and feels very soulless.
1 is childish and a little stupid, but it is the best one to watch. Phantom menace at least feels like someone’s vision rather than the bloated messes we got after.
