Jurassic Park original theatrical ending

I am absolutely adamant that when I saw this film in the theatres when it first came out in June of 1993, it had the T-Rex busting through the visitor centre wall before attacking the Raptors and saving the day. However, later that year when it came out on VHS, the ending had altered to the one we all know now with the Rex sneaking up on everyone and every subsequent re-release of the movie (theatres, tv airing, DVD or Blu Ray, etc) has had this ending with the original having never appeared since the first theatrical run during those 3-4 months in the summer of 1993. Am I crazy? Does anybody else remember seeing the original ending that I did?

The original is the image you posted.

Yes, you're crazy.

you do wonder how the fuck he got in there

I guess Spielberg thought it was silly a dinosaur bursting through a building at the time

You're confusing it with the Genesis game where the t-rex would burst through walls

OP is a fucking retard, you wanna know a genuine Mandela effect? For years in the late 90s and early 2000s I swore the ending to Jurassic Park involved the escape helicopter flying over a beautiful panorama of the island's "natural" ecosystem, with Brachiosaurs and Triceratops drinking near waterfall cliffs and the T. rex chasing Parasaurolophus herds in the plains, and Gallimimus running through the forest and so on before heading out to sea. Of course when I watched it again on DVD in the mid 2000s none of that happened, I had imagined it completely, the only exterior shots of the helicopter after it takes off are over the ocean.

Memory is a strange, strange beast.

I have extraordinarily vivid dreams that imprint themselves onto my memory for decades (I am 28 and still remember dreams from when I was 4 years old), and I have significant trouble distinguishing them from reality without hard proof. Some memories I am certain are real but I merely cannot find the source, but others I can't be positive whether they were dreamt or not.

I thought so too but I first saw in on VHS. It's the dino bones that make us remember it like that. Our brains at the time were too autistic

I saw it when it came out and the ending has not changed. The ending you think you saw would have ruined the timing of the suspenseful ending. You’re an idiot.

Have you ever had dreams that later occurred in reality?

Psychosis.

No

eat shit Freud

Not being able to distinguish dreams from reality is a classic symptom of psychosis. It's a kind of delusion.

Brains fabricate and alter memories all the time. A lot of times the delivery of a line will stick with me, and when I rewatch it years later it's phrased completely differently. Do not trust your brain, it has a mind of its own.

Memories change every time you think about them. When you think you're remembering something you're actually just remembering the last time you remembered it.

In the active sense. Not when it amounts to merely false memories. If that were the case, then every single person on the planet would have to be diagnosed as a psychotic because literally every single person ever to live has experienced a false memory they are convinced is true.

This isn't Yea Forums, but for some reason I remember in Final Fantasy 9 that Garnet cutting her hair before her mom dies.

you either have a shitty memory or it's evidence of an alternate reality converging with our own. which is more plausible to you?

You know that T-Rex vs Spinosaurus fight in 3? I swear to god I slipped into the timeline where the T-Rex won once. I was convinced it was a random thing that changed each viewing of the movie because I know I saw our boy win at least once.

I remember him bursting in too

You have a mental illness because that never fucking happened you nigger

My sister and I both have had a dream of a giant t-rex chasing after john hammond who's struggling to get away with his cane. The floor is collapsing, the t-rex is huge and about to swallow him whole.
Exact same dream, over a decade ago. Both still vividly remember it.

Holy fuck, same.

The reason the scene works is because most everyone had forgotten about the TREX roaming about by that point in the movie.

The entire surprise of his appearance would have been ruined if if they even hinted he was nearby,

That's how I remembered it too. But your mind fills in a lot when you're a kid so it was just your imagination making it cooler.

I recall that the trex walked into the scene backwards sort of like a moonwalk just before killing the raptors. Everyone was laughing at that scene but no one else seems to remember it now.

It's exactly the same as Pearl Harbour.

The theatre cut had Josh Harnett yelling into the phone at the airfield during the attack "I think World War Two just started!". Remember it distinctly because we all pissed ourselves with laughter. It was changed in the dvd/bluray release to "I think World War Two just hit us!"

I have. Kind of like deja vu, except its an instant memory of a dream from YEARS ago. Like "holy shit this came true".
It's also strange when I'll completely at random be reminded of a visual memory of a dream I had in the past. Something I forgot of until it decided to instantly "flash" in my mind.

the end of JP2 has shots of the natural eco systems though

I was thinking about this recently myself

this

It came through an unfinished section of the visitor center.

Good that we have computer showing how unreliable it is. We can verify every version now

Did it tippy toe in?

Same here bro
You dont remember you dreamt it until it happens
Its really offputting

I saw that version too in the theater on opening week. The T-Rex definitely did a brief moonwalk and there was a loud guitar sound then he started attacking the small dinos, it was only about 3 seconds extra.

Really made the scene perfect but I bought the original VHS and the dvd in hopes of seeing that original cut but cannot find it anywhere. Sister and cousin saw it too, so I know I’m not misremembering it.

The genuine Mandela effect is I was sure Nelson Mandela was a criminal murderer terrorist, but it turns out he was a good guy and they even made him president. Weird.

i want more nick robinson and ty simpkins

At once point I thought Nelson Mandela was an American boxer.
I don't know!

Up u til last year I thought Drederick Tatum was a real person. No reason to think otherwise.

I swear, the lost world, trex rampaging through the streets, asian business men cry 'gojira!!' when I saw it in cinemas at 8 years of age.. no other version I've seen has that. Anyone else remember?

You're confusing it with Austin Powers 3. Or was it Naked Gun? Shit I can't remember either

based Mandela Effect poster

Here's a weird Mandela that may have actually happened.
I used to watch Commando a lot
I remember the scene in the shed ended with Arnold cutting off a mans arm and making a joke "need a hand" or something like that.
Years later I rewatched it and it seemed like it was cut out, but I saw there was a directors cut.
I watched that and that too did not have the scene and the Shed sequence just seemed to awkwardly spliced it out.
At that point and seeing there were no deleted scenes I came to the conclusion the scene didn't exist.

Then I watched the making of where they describe they had filmed the scene and it had Arnold making a joke about cutting off his hand but they cut it because it seemed out of character.

So in short:
I remember seeing this scene, it apparently exists
But has never been released in any capacity that's been documented

The T-Rex mate was supposed to come back at the end and kill the Spinosaurus on the beach, but then they totally neutered the ending and that was all cut, leading to the weirdly abrupt ending to III.

>the military saves the day, complete with hero shots of random soldiers
Th-thanks 9/11...

remember when a munchkin in the wizard of oz hung himself and all later version of the movie edited that out?

Thats the ending to Lost World, dumbass.

I remember a scene in the theater where they discuss how the triceratops ate rocks to help the digestion, like some birds do.
But it's not on the dvd...

cool

thats a peacock

It’s a tree. You can’t hang yourself from a peacock you absolute cretin

I've seen it in the theatres too and JP was always the one you can see now.
Your mind tricked you

stop sleeping with your sister, then

Isn't that in the book?

One film I’m 100% certain has different versions is The Ring. The original theatrical cut is scarier than some versions I’ve seen. I think the part where they show a jump cut to one of the victims who is dead inside a cabinet was deemed too scary and cut from the DVD

I've never read the book

This is the only ending I am aware of.

youtu.be/RtnLVHUQjv0

I remember this scene too

Anyone remember any other films where the theatrical cut seemed different from the VHS/DVD/TV edit?

Maybe it was in some behind the scenes video

OT Star Wars, but in this case it's not a mind trick

Or maybe there are different timelines retard

that would have took the reveal away when they first get off the jeep

Attached: glasss.gif (400x218, 1.24M)

I definitely remember a brief scene showing the T-Rex following the electric rail on the road, which explains how he got to the visitor centre.

But I must have made it up, I was 7 when I saw the film.

I saw it at the cinema and you are wrong and retarded

I feel like watching Donnie Darko again. That movie seems related to the Mandela Effect

retard

it's not about how she got it, that's easy to see. it's how she entered completely silently even though she weighs several tons. they should have put some subtle footsteps as she was approaching.

doesnt help that that there are 2 versions of that movie

>It’s a tree
it moves you fucking retard
