Batman: The Movie is also great fun and well worth watching, but I honestly have no idea where I'd put it on the list because of how campy it is.

Tim Burton has a great style with the practical effects he used that ages fairly well. They also had some amazing actors on board who felt larger than life on screen.

Keaton's attempts a playing bruce wayne are absolutely terrible, especially in returns. They really needed someone with more range.
Think of it less as capeshit and more as a dark noir horror fantasy film. It's peak Burton. It's got the flavor of Batman, but the characters and aesthetic are so much better.
