I feel your pain, Frasieranon. I won't lurk, but here, have a bump

Thanks user. I've gone back to the show for the first time in years and it's somehow better than I remembered

Safe to say seasons 8-10 are skippable, but yeah, the rest are great

This thread needs a kick in the pants

Thing is, 11 is good and skipping 8 through 10 kind of messes with viewing 11.

Maybe it's the nostalgia talking, but I will put forth that Frasier is the best sitcom ever made in terms of pure writing and on-screen chemistry. I easily glide through the worst seasons (9 and 10) simply because it feels like I'm a part of the family and love watching their interactions, no matter how bland. And this is the show at its worst. At its best, it's fucking hilarious and yet most episodes have small moral-of-the-story endings. The relationships feel real.

There are a lot of great sitcoms, I think Frasier just edges them out overall.

an OP in a past thread asked
>Will there ever be a show as smart or funny as Frasier?
and an user replied
>smarter, yes
>funnier, yes
>both, no

Hey baby the Agent C is calling, for flight plans and masked men, mercy
And maybe I seem a bit confused, yeah maybe, but I got you, Bane, ha ha ha haa
But I don't know what to do with those filed flight plans and masked men
I'm calling it in

Save up some money, fake an injury, and you too can have a live-in english hottie.

Daring synthesis. Bravo!

I've never been into sitcoms much outside of Frasier, but I reckon that this is probably true. Everyone really inhibits their character and plays off of one another in the sharpest way.

I think that's a great way to put it. The show could bring in low-brow, silly jokes when it needed to, but it also didn't pander to the audience.

And luckily it was in a time before the "woke" generation of TV, so we didn't have that bullshit being forced down our throats.

She is so annoying and 2D. Also she has a shit body and aged like shit.

She unironically doesn't have an arc other than being lusted on by Niles.

To be fair, it was a fairly progressive show for its time. Won some Gay awards and everything.

Jesus, did it really? Maybe it's a credit to the writers that I never felt like anything was shoehorned in or hamfisted. I've seen every episode probably 3-4 times, and have never even rolled my eyes. It all just fits together imho, or is self-aware.

If I remember right, it was rewarded for basically not just Will and Gracing gays - ie, they weren't stereotypes etc. Ultimately, though, I think a lot of it comes down to the show being somewhat tongue and cheek about Frasier and Niles' iterests. It never felt like they were just name dropping things or that the pretentious stuff they were into was a joke from the writers to the audience - it was taken seriously - but what the joke actually was was that the characters themselves were still somewhat out of place in comparison to everyone else. The show got to be smart without being modern-day post-modernly ironic and meta/self-referential/wink-wink, while still keeping the leads in a position where they could be ribbed like everyone else.

What's this one referencing?

Berserk

I need more Frasier crossover memes in my life.

I don't know the references for these.

Childhood is having love for Daphne, adulthood is lusting for Roz. I approve of her british bum here though.

>lusting after a single mother
I don't think so

>Midwinters Night Dream
>Not Classic

"Dr Crane, your glockenspiel has sprung to life!" is the single funniest line of the entire show fuck off

personally think 'Decoys' in Season 6 is one of the best
Also Dinner Party as classic

>DANCED Agamemnon at Jacob's Pillow

It is the sneed of Frasier

Fucking this. A classic for so many reasons, and one of those is that line in particular. Plus, if you were big into Niles/Daphne, it was a really good start

You know what they say Euripides, Eumenides

Fun fact: They originally had Lisa Kudrow to play Roz but they didn't like the fit. Enter Roz.
