But she blew it. It was there for her on a platter. She was a former Senator and Secretary of State, with the full support of the current president, the full support of a popular former president (who she was fucking tbf), and even the support of an unpopular former president (Dubya). She even got the support of her main primary opponent, Bernie, and she still managed to lose to a reality tv show host who *started* his campaign by alienating 10% of the US population. Then he hurled playground insults at his primary opponents, threatened to put her in jail, was caught admitting to groping teenagers because "when you're a star, they let you do it", had all this other baggage around him...and he still beat her.

Why? Because he decided to campaign hard in the Rust Belt states hit by the recession and she thought she could safely ignore them because "Obama won them, so whatever, they're mine". She's the most incompetent politician of all time.

You know, if the Clintons were really murdering people left and right, that says a lot about the incompetence of the government if two senior citizens are having such high-profile individuals whacked with no trace of evidence.

It's not incompetence, it's the way the system works. If you're high profile enough, you can lie, cheat, steal, and kill all you want as long as you have some discretion, and your connections will make sure that you're never held accountable for your actions. I'm talking about his charisma and his ability as a public speaker. That's what makes a gifted politician "gifted". It goes beyond just policy. It's the reason why more people remember Cicero than Sulla/Marius/Lepidus/Pompey/Crassus, even though those men were all far more powerful.
