Is supernatural worth watching past season 5?
Is supernatural worth watching past season 5?
Absolutely not. And the brother who is stuck in hell is still forgotten.
i mean to be fair, he came out of nowhere and had no real value or character past being a mcguffin for the lucifer fight
not really no
it has some good episodes but good luck fighitng through the slog to get to them, and you need to to understand whats going on in those episodes
after season 5 it turns into tumblr fanfiction and gets progressively worse and more off the rails
This. Was terrible to binge watch to season 10,then season 11 seemed promising but just worsened it
It lost me at season 9. The whole men of letters shit was just awful and made 0 sense when the 2 just came from fighting the end of days.
That was when you could tell Tumblr was in control of the writing.
absolutely, completely, and hard no. I fucking hate that s05 ends on a cliffhanger because that episode was a perfect sendoff for the show. Everything before that ending was comfy as fuck but I tried to watch s06 and it was utter trash.
Depends on how much of a masochist you are
Honestly, even though it is a cliffhanger ending I still think it works well on it's own.
The show begins with Sam having a normal life and the show ends with Dean having a normal life. It's not ideal but it's something.
that's the worst season. everything since has been much better.
why wouldn't anyone keep watching supernatural? two bros driving across the country in a cool car killing monsters and cranking classic rock. name anything better on tv
Scoobynatural and season 11 make it worthwhile yes
Hated season 9 too. Worst season. I quit and became a hater that time
Hello lad
We havent had a good thread in weeks
i know. it's sad. supernatural threads are the only reason i come to this hellhole
I can't keep making threads daily and bump them all the time user. It's not like before. Besides, even though we have 14 seasons' worth of material, we have exhausted all sorts of discussion. sad
LIVE. Fuck you Connor. All FOUR of you
>we have exhausted all sorts of discussion
disagree. there's an endless amount of topics one could discuss with supernatural. it's the most vast show ever created in terms of its universe, but there aren't enough of us show nerds that show up in these threads to sustain good discussions. there have been some great ideas posited for the final season, but i still think it's up in the air. also, the season 15 opener promises to be epic considering how things left off and they've said that they won't do a time skip, so we should see some shit the first few episodes before they settle things down. my only hope is that Chuck doesn't simply do a finger snap to set things back. given how things left off, how won't the general public finally realize that everything is real and the shtf? it would be a novel idea to do the final season with the cat out of the bag on that. that's probably too much and would muddle the story so i'm not saying i want that, but it would be a different premise for the show.
>sam is trapped in hell forever and dean has a wife and kid
>people were satisfied about this potentially being the end of the show
you can all fuck off
what are all the things that need to be resolved in the final season?
here's one
>won't the general public finally realize that everything is real and the shtf? it would be a novel idea to do the final season with the cat out of the bag on that. that's probably too much and would muddle the story so i'm not saying i want that, but it would be a different premise for the show
that sounds very risky and can easily fail. about the universe and lore, it's best expanded on a spinoff but we all know what happened there
fuck i hope they got released too
adam
jesse
the little kid of the monster dean killed
and most of all this chick
Season 1-5 is a good B-movie show with a pretty alright overarching narrative
Season 6-14 is a good B-movie show with atrocious overarching narrative.
I'm fine with the later seasons because I never wanted the show to be good. If you want to be entertained there's certainly worse stuff out there. At the very least watch Scoobynatural
>adam
already confirmed to return
>jesse
dead hopefully
>little kid of the monster dean killed
meh. Ben, however
>this chick
yes
>atrocious overarching narrative
11 onwards are pretty solid though, at least compared to 6-10. I love 6-7 better than 8-9 but yes, the transition was rough
>Sam hit a dog
>second angel civil war
fucking bullshit. of course, 1-5 is still the best, but 11-14 so far is a stronger run to close the show compared to when were were in the middle years
i've watched 100s of B-movies, it's kind of hobby of mine, and supernatural is WAY better than b-movie tier wire fight aside . supernatural reaches elite kino tier a few times each season. it's a shame it hasn't gotten more critical aclaim than it has. the budget keeps them from GOT fx, but the writing and acting, mostly, is so much better. the amount of research they employ into plots and stories, and they way they play with genre conventions is always impressive
>hasn’t gotten more critical acclaim than it has
That’s why I joined to be a voting member of the academy of horror, sci fi and fantasy awards. Kripke was awarded an honorary win but the show itself hasn’t won any yet. I hope Supernatural wins its first saturn award
there's so much greatness in that scene
baby is damn photogenic. they really got that one right when the show started. it's such an icon
True. Wish i could own one
I doubt this will last the night but if it does, see you later lads
Ben should lead the inevitable spinoff
Honestly the first 5 season are pretty damn complete and wrap up the story nicely. It’s worth watching past season 5 because Sam and dean make really good monster of the week tv..right up there with mulder and scully
