Embrace panentheism, OP.
>panentheism
There have been so many branches of gnosticism throughout the years and not all of them are dualistic
Alas, all of them particularly wretched and hateful. No better than Buddhism.
Waking Life
Into the Void
The Holy Mountain
The Matrix trilogy
STALKER
Seething dogmatist
It's a good trilogy alltogether. The sequels being bad is just a meme
"Prince of Darkness" by John Carpenter
Yeah, they have their flaws but i was 100% invested in the movies.

Beyond The Black Rainbow
Mandy
The Fountain
Koyaanisqatsi
Eyes Wide Shut
Gnosticism is the spiritual and philosophical equivalent of a teenage temper tantrum.
Based retard
Hermeticism is not Gnosticism.
And that isn't even particularly good Hermeticism, either.
Have you ever seen that video where the crazy Christian accidentally makes an incredible movie review of truman show?
Cringe retard
Gnostics tend to shove their world-hating nonsense into everything.
based
Blood Meridian
There is such a thing as a level headed teenager who is coming to the realization that life is not everything it's cracked up to be. They note their grievances and look for ways to address them or others who have.
Going around cursing the demiurge is the gnostic teenage temper tantrum.
redpill me on gnosticism, where should I start?
Look around yourself, you are living in it

Read the gospel of Thomas
This is neither gnosticist nor a movie
Did you actually read the novel?
>world-hating
The demiurge shit is allegorical, dingus.
>redpill me on gnosticism, where should I start?

Here you go

Plato desu, not technically Gnostic but a lot of his ideas overlap, like his allegory of the cave. He’s more straightforward with his philosophy so it’s a good foundation before you start trying to tackle Gnostic texts.
There's rarely such a thing as a level-headed teenager, who isn't full of disillusionment, hormones, peer pressure and the weight of the world ahead of them. You need to look into emanations and physical expressions of the spiritual and mental. Life isn't a prison, it's the first step.
You find a less world-hating and reality-denying philosophy and spiritual system that doesn't half-encourage hedonism or brutal life-denial.
Not always, friend.

Blade Runner 2049
The Dark Crystal
I haven't seen the show yet.
Trailer doesn't look terrible.
Looks like /pol/ the movie on some level.
You like some cyberpunk in your gnosticism?
Let's all love Lain!
It's best if you just watch it blind. I saw it on a whim when it released on torrents and enjoyed it.
Why do people keep pushing this gnosticism retardation?
>Not always, friend.
No, it’s always allegorical. I assume you just mean people don’t always understand that it’s allegorical, which is true but that shouldn’t reflect on Gnostic philosophy itself. The core principle of Gnosticism is that all religious myth contains divine truths that are revealed when one achieves proper understanding (Gnosis). A lot of people seem to overlook that part and just buy into the demiurge allegory which defeats the entire purpose.
its a religion/philosophy for hipsters that think Christianity is too mainstream
Look at this somatic over here.
Not so much /pol/ as just media conspiracies in general, but the conspiracy aspect is a metaphor in its own way. It’s really solid, sort of a surrealist neo-noir.
There are also Christian gnostics. Though the philosophy / religion itself predates Christianity.
I myself believe it to be blasphemous heresy, against Christian teaching, but I still find it interesting.
whats gnosticism?
is this good? i watched Free Fire and rather liked it, was putting off watching tihs for a while
>what if the world were fake, and God were a dick?
source?
2nd-century Christianity.
>tfw used to rent these from the library as a kid because of the nudity
those were the days
>I read a wikipedia entry that said holden is an archon so it must be gnostic
Gnosticism makes for a cool fantasy setting I guess.
hell yeah brother. That is a seriously underrated manga. Idk if I even understand the gnostic elements though, or what gnosticism even is lol
Yes, watch it now
It's almost like nobody itt knows what gnosticism is.
Modsommar
The Cathars.
It's the hip underground you've-probably-never-heard-of-it religion for people that grew up in a time where you can shop for religion like any other consumption media.
Answer me this gnostifags, if the material of your brain was created by a malevolent or fundamentally flawed demiurge, then how can you ever guarantee your mind will lead you from this trap of his design?
Son of the mask
Do people think any film with occult themes = gnosticism? That's not what Gnostic means.
not a gnosticfag but it seems like "gnosis" or knowledge is something *felt*, not a thought in the mind. you're right that the mind is made and of the demiurge, but the liberating gnosis is experienced beyond the mind, beyond the senses, beyond even emotion, all of which are lies and deceptions. they're real, but not really real, where as gnosis is truth, and you'll know it when you experience it. pretty gay, huh
Not only does it require that the knowledge isn't part of your mind, but the feeling of recognition can't be a part of your mind either. And the recognition of this recognition also can't be a part of your mind, and the recognition of that recognition, and so on and so on, for all eternity.
true experience devoid of self-consciousness
Tron Legacy
It’s like a western equivalent to whatever the divine experience in Buddhist meditation is called. I always forget the name, not Samadhi but the big one at the end.
I'm convinced most of you have no fucking clue what gnostic means, based on these recs
Satori
Tron Legacy
Oblivion
Blade Runner 2049
The Lego Movie
The Dark Crystal Age Of Resistance
cringe thread
Yeah but it's also the religion that makes the most sense.
you don't seem to understand
Knight of Cups. The Tarot Card "Knight of Cups" is like a soldier/Knight for the Water Element.
It's about the Water element and masculinity. Christian Bale sucks Natalie Portman's toes. Get it?
There are no gnostic movies. Movies are anti gnostic.
Feelings come from glands.
Glands from the demiurge.
