second was better because we've already been with Sarah for a movie, just like Aliens is better because we've been with Ripley for a movie. you don't like them in their first ones, but then they get competent and it makes the sequels better.
that song from tech noir is fucking hot. i love that burning in the third degree song
The first Alien was better, too!
Listen, I knew my hot take on Terminator was controversial. That's why I posted the thread. But Alien is far superior to Aliens.
The first one is always the best. Find any sequel that's better.
The Matrix
Fellowship of the Ring
Alien
Terminator
Bladerunner
Rambo
Rocky
The only sequels that might be better than the first are The Godfather 2 and Empire Strikes Back
>Listen, I knew my hot take on Terminator was controversial
it's not, Terminator is better than T2 and Alien is better than Aliens
shrek 2
the dark knight
Aliens is better because of Newt
You already said my only two arguments.
I agree with the whole list except Terminator.
I find T2 to be a better experience.
Ghostbusters II
Wayne's World 2
>the dark knight
You're right about that one. I never cared for Shrek so I never saw the sequels.
The really controversial opinion is admitting that Terminator 3 was better than the second film as well. The ending of T2 never felt right to me and this movie felt like a much more logical conclusion.
Jesus. You couldn't be more wrong on either count.
I feel like most people prefer T2. But I like the first one better.
Wrong on both counts you absolute FUCKING FAGGOT
Why make a post about something so obvious?
Wtf i literally saw this kino yesterday
Paddington 2
Hulu is the shit
It's been my experience that most people think the second one is better, with many having only seen the second one.
Anyone see this in the new trailer for dark fate?
There's like a predator camouflage like thingy moving in the background. I wonder what it was?
at 59 seconds.

>Okay we killed the T-1000 and thrown the extra chip and arm into the furnace
>Bet_you_can't_have_just_one.mp3
>Gotta suicide now or else more terminators (instead of watching Johnny for the rest of his life as a safeguard)
>Old_Yeller.exe
>Thumbs up with remaining arm
>Oh shit what about his other arm that got torn off and was never mentioned again?
>the terminator - SOUL
>t2 - soulless hollywood sequel
more like Cewt
Agreed.

āIām gonna close early today!ā
They were so different in tone, I don't know if they're worth comparing objectively quality-wise
nah, the 1st is great and has a much more gritty feel than 2, so I understand why some people might prefer it, but 2 is easily the greatest sci-fi action movie of all-time and arguably one of the most viscerally entertaining movies ever made.
some people are comparing the dynamic of the 1st and 2nd movie to alien vs. aliens, but i don't think that's a good comparison. imo it's much closer to mad max vs the road warrior in the sense the latter movie expands flesh out the universe and makes it feel complete, whereas the former movie, while great in its own right, feels a bit like a rough draft.
For Michael Biehn and also Linda Hamilton's tits, T1 was kino.
>the latter movie expands flesh out the universe
*fleshes out the universe
you're a cocksucking moron if you think batman begins is better than tdk
the first is absolute kino, the second loses that kino feeling
Human vs. Unstoppable Killer Robot has more tension than Human and Unstoppable Killer Robot vs. Slightly Better Unstoppable Killer Robot
i think the second one conveys the feeling of hopelessness better, especially with the nuke scene, like skynet is always gonna happen anyway.
true the first really have a great sci-fi feeling and execution the second ones a just action trash milking on the success of the first
>terminator, alien
sequels were better, but together they're quite the ride
>matrix, Rambo
I'm more inclined to agree. the sequels were good, but just didn't have that, oh i dont know, connection(?) like Terminator and Aliens have to their sequels
as for the rest, either dont know / dont care
first one felt alot more tense. like they just sent Micheal Biehn back and were like "just do your best bro"
because the terminator was OP as fuck and the odds seemed stacked against the humans.
in the 2nd once your realize arnie is a good guy and they wouldn't kill of the kid there's not much tension, just a fun action romp
T3 isn't better than T2 but it is definitely underrated, it's a solid 8.5/10
Unironically this. Paddington 2 is legitimately a good movie.
Do I need to have seen the first one to enjoy it?
OP, objectively, yes, in my heart, no!!!FACT!!!
Terminator 2 is one of, if not the best sequels ever made, however the first Terminator is still better.
No. I saw Paddington 2 first and it didn't detract from the movie at all. It's just established that he already lives with the family rather than trying to fit in or be accepted.
they're not as action-y as internet reviewers would have you believe. go watch them again. just because they're not "slasher on a space ship" and "slasher from the future" doesn't mean they're pure action, it means they're not slashers.
Mad Max 2
T2 > T1
Alien > Aliens
no, the sci fi slasher/horror feel of the first Terminator was much better than kid and his robot
>They were so different in tone, I don't know if they're worth comparing objectively quality-wise
The only decent opinion
Toy Story
Star Trek
Avengers (3 anyways)
Cap America
Deadpool
Hellboy
Xmen
