Slow burning
Does this mean everyone will be able to watch it soon or is the greedy Jew still milking the directors cut in cinemas?
I don't feel like watching a 2 and a half hour movie with a Jew director trying to brainwash people into thinking white culture is evil. It's all so tiresome.
Did it use a nerve shredding 'less is more' approach to horror?
Sneedsommar
also what happened that this is being spammed again?
absolute kino but not really horror at all
Climax>The VVitch>A Ghost Story>Hereditary>It Comes at Night>Midsommar
Havent seen the rest
The trailer got me interested, but then I watched this:
youtube.com
Do I bother or not?
you should watch it if you want to and form your own opinion
could you be anymore of a brainlet?
The regular cut is better then the directors cut, mostly due to pacing.
Gay
Worst movie of 2019 so far. None of the characters do anything relatable, not a single scary scene and a shit ending. Anyone who likes this movie is pretending to so that they can come off as intelligent when in reality it's just a shit movie
>horrific things happen throughout the whole movie
Actually...you're right never mind!
>no jumpscares
This review is honestly one of the most accurate reviews I've seen
Basically this. It's unsettling but it's not horrifying. The only people claiming it's in some way scary are retards who ''had a bad trip'' the only time they smoked weed.
>butt-pushing barn orgy
>frumpy grumpy flower face
It was better than Yea Forums gives it credit for.
It depicted roasties fairly truthfully.
Honestly one of the best movies I've seen in years. People expecting a running the mill horror movie with ghosts appearing in mirrors and other such things would be disappointed. It wasn't a horror movie at all. Is was about how the individualistic attitude of modernity isolate us and make death a terrifying thing. The only reason the movie is scary at all is because of our infantile attitude towards death.
There's no tension because everything that happens is extremely obvious.
That should tell you how good it actually is
Personally I’m not a fan of getting turned into fucking fertilizer
Good aesthetics,no substance, potential wasted.
cringe
based
Honestly only the last 30 minutes and a bit of the beginning are good, and even then, these are just some(admittedly, pretty seriously) disturbing scenes, not a lot of substance.
The beginning was unironically one of the most heart-wrenching things I've ever seen. Never have I seen an actor scream and cry with so much despair.
One thing for sure, no other movie portrays psychedelics this well. I'm never seen such an accurate representation of someone tripping.
Yeah but you're also terrified of dying, to the point that it keeps you up at night sometimes. Don't be coy, you know it's true
Enter the void.
both movies are dog shit, but enter the void does psychedelics.
also Mandy.
pro tip watch movies
You need a jumpscare to make it horror? I'm sure I could recommend a James Wan movie or two for you
how are these related? I've only seen Climax.
does the girl on the poster get raped?
>bone chilling slow burn with shocking images of graphic violence, nudity and deformity
Is there a more hack form of horror? Would unironically take your basic jumpscares flicks over this sudointellectual trash
This. Idc how gorgeous the movie looked, plot, character develop, dialogue everything was fucking horseshit. Scene where they're screaming while dude's having sex felt like a slap in the face for getting that far in the movie.
They're the major A24 movies
>sudointellectual
psssshhhhhhhahaha
Garbage
>sudointellectual
WHOA. POWERFUL.
Massive humiliating financial bomb
How about you watch it and judge for yourself retard.
Career ending boredom
shocking absolutely no one
I saw hereditary recently and thought it was shit. should I bother watching this?
No, because you lack even average intelligence. Stick to Nemo and other Disney fare.
do tell, fair user, why was hereditary good?
A Ghost Story>The Killing of a Sacred Deer>Midsommar>The Lobster>Hereditary>The VVitch>Climax>Ex Machina
I don't care about the rest.
This thread is fucking full of Marks
The story, the acting, the atmosphere. Take your pick. It was masterful. Midsommar is a beautiful film; but you must be somewhat intelligent. No worries.
holy shit that review was awful
... but that's not what the movie is about...
I can't fathom how you would say this is the worst of 2019... I mean just the technical/design/directorial aspects of it are phenomenal and that's enough for it to be pretty good. I think the story is really interesting too, how dani loses her family and comes to find comfort in a new (strange) family and burn all ties with her past life.
My only gripe with the movie is that there isn't a lot of character development, nor is there any real theme. There's not a lot behind it all.
Still great though.
We have no words to fix you user... you're just broken.
This movie kind of put me in a bad mood. I liked it I guess, but it just felt so weird that I felt weird while watching it. Idk it's definitely stuck with me.
Not that anything he says in here is untrue. I think this is a really reductive look at the film. It definitely doesn't follow conventions of movie dynamics but I found it to be a very realistic take on a failing relationship
It is. You're just bad at spotting the propaganda.
Did anyone else see the director's cut this weekend fucking amazing!
I definitely think using the couples failing relationship as the frame of the movie was a bad choice because fuck, they wouldn’t fucking shut up and just stop being awful. Every moment they were both on screen I just wanted to die.
The guy was hot though and had a nice dick. It was nice to see an average looking guy in a major movie for once.
Why would you make a thread about a movie whose torrent isn't out yet.
Each time this thread gets made I check torrent sites.
Or you’re a schizo
pretty telling that you seem to be the only one who can spot the alleged "propaganda"
It sucked
>not relatable
that's because you're a shut-in. The characters were generally written like real people, you just don't talk to real people enough to know they're just as retarded as the characters in the movie
2.5/10
I need to see these and see if they're better than Hereditary as you claim.
Climax is the only good film
This movie was faster paced, more interesting and more exciting than Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Yeah it’s great I’m more of a slow burn character development driven bonechilling psychological horror guy myself... and the movie explores some pretty important themes like the infantile attitude towards death in a late-stage capitalist society. If you don’t have the patience for a movie like this you should skip it.
The soundtrack is ridiculously good
imagine being this much of a brainwashed conspiracy fag afraid of being brainwashed. Oh the irony.
it was well made but boring and basically a pretty waste of time.
You honestly think that an economic system has any bearing on peoples attitude towards death?
Attitudes towards death are a product of scientific knowledge. We fear death now more than those in tribal religious cults, because science has basically disproven the existence of the supernatural, and there's no scientific knowledge to indicate there's an afterlife.
The fear at the back of everyones mind is that death is the end. This has nothing to do with my 401k.
If you notice Mark, before being killed was taken away by the girl who was giving him glances throughout the movie implying she took him a way to fuck then have him killed. This essentially happened to Christian as well. but none of the other outsiders were given the same treatment, they were just killed outright
Why?
Because they were darker skinned and would taint the pure white bloodline of the cult.
You could read that as some cynical white race propoganda or, you know, you could be a sane human and just let it be a part of the story the movie is telling.
>spoiler
>with the title unchanged
Cool posting.
>the wicker man with pastel colors
haven't seen this but /pol/acks reaction makes me want to see it
Fucking idiot
Unironically this is one of my favorites of all time. No movie shows american degeneracy, cultural relativism, consumerist type romance as well and as in depth as Midsommar.
It was a thrill ride as well for me, I was sucked in and understood I was shaking a bit by the end. Not scary, exited.
I have even been to Sweden for Midsommar with the local nationalists, they get the Swedish vibe well (tho real swedes are not crazy at all).
You laugh during the film, but only because you don't know how to react. There simply is nothing like it.
No! It was ideal setup. It was critisism on american relationship logic. If you have to put more into a relationship than you get out then you are stupid to be with the person. That is american logic, that was in the film.
THAT IS STUPID BEYOND BELIEF. You should be there for each other. No movie has critisized it as well.
Fuck this stupid fucking movie.
pleb, or just brainlet?
The movie was good overall and pretty unsettling, but the first 20-30 minutes before the title drop was reallyyyy heavy and filled with dread. It became too out there and comedic in Sweden.
Pulled an Avengers and re-released with extra unnecessary footage.
>that mini dream sequence when she sees her sister lying next to her parents and smiling
Pretty fucked stuff
It deliberately removed all deaths so they could release an extended directors cut for more shekels.
>my only gripe is it's shit
>but it's still great
Truly a god amongst men.
>The guy was hot though
lmao yes thats what i thought too this was made me sat through 2 hrs of it
Trust but verify. Wise.
>that spacing
go back
I thought nobody could possibly be this retarded. Wow was I wrong.
any links to a writeup or detailed video about the hidden messages and such from Midsommar?
This movie felt like a reproduction of The Wicker Man
>inb4 L-LE SLOW BURNING! LE SLOW BURNING! LOL!
you have to go back contrarians
you are for sure
are you serious? how come all the characters act like they are from ‘eurotrip’? and that attestupa scene made me wanna leave the fucking cinema straight after i saw the reaction of some american college students to the murder. jesus christ, those who say the movie is deep ‘cause it’s a metaphor to a toxic relationship should also consider that any flick must be at least watchable and with some credibility to the setting and characters. you can’t make a cheap horror from early ‘00 and call it arthouse
You are american, should not have problem with those.
It is just about cult not about saying fuck to Midsommar.
florence pugh is a good ass actress cant wait to see this movie
Thanks for reading my post. I don't know how to use reddit, but it is so strange that when I space my different thoughts people call me reddit.
Is that a rule there or something? You get banned for not spacing? You know better, now go back.
Fake almost non existent people are real because I say so. None of those people were at all relatable outside of the most niche types. Your the one living in the bubble here.
I thought her face would be too annoying to look at but she was fantastic, practically perfection.
