I think it'll probably have parts that are alright or pretty good, but something tells me it'll be the same cut-cut-cut kind of action.

That's not too far from the truth. Directors don't have much control over the aesthetic of their movies, they have to follow the "Marvel standard", more or less. IIRC, Ryan Coogler wanted to shoot Black Panther on film but the higher ups shut him down, for example.
