Made it 4 episodes in before giving up. At 31, I can't justify watching a poorly written teen show just to check out Betty and Veronica. Life is too short.

I agree. Came for the murder stuff after watching the third season of 13 reasons why, but can't say this show really focuses much on the darker things. Most of the episodes were pretty shit and only teen drama.

The sheer amount of grown ass people I see everywhere online justifying watching drivel like Riverdale on a weekly basis just because it's "so bad it's good" makes me wonder how much free time they have. Don't they work/study/do literally anything besides watching tv?

That Betty is for marrying, Veronica is for a mistress, and Cheryl is for drunk dialling at 3am.

Also that S1 is the high point and you shouldn't spoil it by watching more

Remember when the show became a hardboiled detective show for one episode when Jug went looking for Hiram's shooter and then forgot all about it?

It's better than if they were out shooting up daycares or whatever those types of people usually do. I have the excuse of being the same age as the cast so it's fine for me to watch it.

It's a teen soap opera. To enjoy it you need to be a part of the target demographic or an adult with shit taste who does an awful job of managing his own free time by unironically watching garbage.
