Hot take:
Dragon Ball is cool
Hot take:
Dragon Ball was cool*
It was cool before Toriyama made new material in the 2010's
Dragon Ball is cool but Dragon Ball Z is cringe
all of them vs pic related
who would win
Still cool
where is my dose doc
Fuck off
To bad Gohan's wearing that faggot ass clothes
You must think you are so funny
>Goku with pink hair and evil
>people think this is cool
This was already done better decades before.
>still cool
>literally just changed his supersayan from gold to blue
I hate how zoomers just zoomzoom around thinking they can say whatever they want
Fag fucking fag
His origin is actually probably the coolest of all the DB villians
Kino blocking and top tier palette.
Made me cry lads and immediately this song popped in my head
youtube.com
it's amazing how much improve with a filtler
Where can I find episodes with this filter? I'm trying to convince my friends to watch DBS but they say it looks like shit (and they are right)
The Bardock special was great, the Super retcon was unnecessary.
I completely agree but that's Turles from Tree Of Might
does Yea Forums actually do this? Imagine being friends with a weeb
>bro you gotta check out the new nu-dragonball
>it's just recycled characters but with a multiverse thing attacked to it
>it's soo good I even added a filter so you'd think it was more EPIC
>besides my parents, you are the first one to have ever put dust upon me.
Namek Saga was peak dbz. Goku,a commonor burying his prince, whom he'd beaten back on earth. Piccolo, the son of his former arch nemesis, now a surrogate dad to Gohan. Krillin.
It was all believable up to that point. Not so different from your run of the mill soap opera, granted. But there was a certain gravitas there. The stakes were high, and you could feel why the stakes were high.
Goku turning Super Saiyan was the cherry on top and it should've ended right then and there. Anything after that just confirmed the show was ridiculous to begin with. Maybe I'm conservative. Naruto ended with Rock Lee fighting Gaara for me.
No. Just nostalgic idiots do.
cell saga was better you're just a faggot
What is it with autists and JoJo why are they so attracted to it
Cell saga was shit compared to Freeza saga.
being this retarded
Goku vs Cell was the best fight of the entire series. But there was no emotional depth, it was just impressive to watch.
name literally ONE thing that cell saga did better
protip: you can't
>Goku turning Super Saiyan was the cherry on top and it should've ended right then and there.
>Unlock the legendary god like transformation.
> "Okay, we're done, lets never look see what the hero as the supreme power of the universe.
Freeza was best writing overall, but that it would have been tarded to end it there. Providing new challenges in the form of most powerful machines/magic beings/gods isn't a terrible idea. Could have been done better than it was, but even what it was is a good continuation of that, and to his create Asianguy did a good job making the build to SS2 worthwhile.
SS3 shit though
everything and you're still a faggot
I don't get what people hate about Super.
No blood.
>best fight of the entire series
>not ss3 Gokek vs kid boo
pathetic
I dig Adult Gohan vs. Dabura, very underrated fight
youtube.com
Because it's kino
you sure are
this
>not dubbed
ewwwww
> t. Pedro Juan Sanchez Gomez
RF and BoG were awful but the rest is solid
You're probably autistic
Turles is boring as shit
Black is a lot more interesting than he initially lets on and Nozawa delivers an incredible performance
Based
Cell saga was shit. You Gohan autists are delusional.
Fights are boring and the new saiyan transformations suck. They need to bring back the crazy shit like the ssj3 design instead of a gay hair color change every time
I bet you like super you autist
Super was insanely frustrating every week but it was fun as fuck to finally watch DB again every week. I think people should stop crying about it and stop taking it so seriously
They're not 10 anymore.
FAGGOT
FAGGOT
FAGGOT
OP'S A FAG
>Reeee stop hating Cell. Reeee.
Cope.
I remember how stoked I was when I was able to find dbz music from my childhood on the internet. I hadn't heard these songs since I was a kid and back then, you couldn't hear songs on demand. You heard them once, when that episode was broadcasted, and that was it.
Twelve year later you find that music you heard one time in your childhood on the internet and you're instantly taken back. It was magic.
There's a thing to be said for scarcity. Aside from that: the original ost was so fucking badass.
I watched this show as a six year old. There was violence, swearing, blood, pride, trust, betrayal. And magic beams. I could watch this show once a week and that was it.
I can tell you, watchin Furiza beating Vegeta in his back over and over while taunting the others. This level of sadism. It wasn't something you were exposed to often as a kid. I watched it in the morning during summertime. it was unique.
anime bad!
Friezer > Buu > Cell
Adults who watch cartoons are giant faggots.
Original Dragon Ball
Great sense of adventure, great fight choreography, fantastic humor, power creep isn't ridiculous and Goku actually has to get better at martial arts to defeat his opponents even the side characters get the spotlight or an appearance. Absolute fucking Kino and realistically you could just watch this because it has an already perfect conclusion.
Early Z-End of Frieza saga
We get the plot twist that Goku is an alien and the universe is bigger than we thought. Power creep begins to be a major thing, magic plot device that makes you stronger when you're about to die, most characters are still for the most part relevant.
Cell Arc
Time fuckery begins, not rated as highly as Frieza saga but I personally prefer it. Focus goes back on a higher stakes tournament and martial arts although the choreography takes a hit when compared to Dragon Ball. Quite liked the Androids and again most characters are still relevant but the power creep becomes more apparent with each of the cell forms.
Buu Arc
Early Buu arc had some fantastic Vegeta moments but then it becomes a convoluted cluster fuck and drags on for way too long with unnecessary and pointles padding. Worst arc in Z.
GT
Don't remember much of it but I liked what I saw, feel it gets shit on unfairly.
Super
I really like the slice of life episodes and feel they're better than most of the ones involving combat, power creep is absolutely ridiculous and it becomes the Goku and Vegeta show. Vegeta keeps getting great character development but Goku becomes Best Wishes tier Ash.
Literally the KANTOOOOOOOOO arc of Dragon Ball. Zamasu had potential as a villain but they squandered him and The tournament of power was poorly written as they wrote Jiren to be too strong. Also fuck Ribrianne.
>dude these modified teenagers built on earth to kill a Goku with a powerlevel around 1000 at the time are stronger than the emperor of the universe lmao!
>also every character acts like a retard which is why Cell gets so far
Namek >>>>>>>>> Cell
being this delusional
Don't bully. I just want my friends to watch the same things as me.
>the choreography takes a hit when compared to Dragon Bal
Cell saga. Really? I thought Goku vs Cell was the most technical fight of all.
Super story arcs are embarrassingly bad. As a writer you should never explain the mystery/open all the boxes. Yet Super turns it up to 11 by having Goku meet and become pals with literal god, unlike Kami and King Kai who were metaphorically "god" (as in overseers of their respective realms). Every character feels soulless and every world is treated like an amusement attraction to entertain shallow interest before moving on to something else. DB made a country feel wondrous and infinitely expansive while Super makes a multiverse feel smaller than an apartment building. Sad!
You are either a nigger, a spic or some manchild that is hopelessly blinded by nostalgia
>DB has a power creep
stopped reading there
cozy pic
agreed the colour palette is quite nice
>and it becomes the Goku and Vegeta show
The Tournament of Power had more exposure for the supporting cast since the Saiyan saga.
It indisputably does.
???
It's correct. Everyone was infinitely better on Namek. Each character had to strategic in the moves they made because Frieza was horrifying force, especially Vegeta who was fighting a one man rebellion against the whole force. Cell saga just ruined everything. Super Saiyan is no longer that legendary. People just hop in the time chamber when things get tough. Characters are downright retarded and make awful decisions like Vegeta letting Cell transform, SS2 Gohan letting Goku die, and Goku not taking the medicine.
There was nothing quite like Dbz back in the day. Such an adult show for little kids. Goku spent 1 or two minutes on screen burying someone with his hands. That alone, without context was so out there. I used to stare at the moon, hoping I would turn into a big and powerful creature. When I learned to play the guitar, I played one of furiza's songs from memory because I had no other way to acces it. The first things I did when I had internet was look up all things dbz.that and porn. I had to spend a whole evening downloading Tera Patrick photos and save them to a floppy disk.
That's true, and there is certainly good criticism of the animation quality being inconsistent and dipping sometimes.
I'm a little aspie but that's not relevant or any kind of argument.
SSJ3 looks dumb, and you can't just give them more muscles and hair each time they unlock a new power up transformation. People don't want them to look like freaks, they want them to look like saiyans. Ultra Instinct was done well not due to change in physical appearance or hair color, but due to what it meant for combat and how that was executed.
I remember being a bit frustrating during the ToP first airing becuase I kept wanting more combat per episode and less reaction shots, but watching the sub come out this year has been enjoyable. If you wait until a bunch or if not most of the episodes are out before watching it, your experience dramatically goes up not being constrained to twenty minutes once a week.
I felt blue balled as fuck watching DBZ growing up due to the ridiculous amount of dramatic standing around there is. Was the writing really better or do some just have nostalgia goggles on? Good fights, kino music, some funny moments now and again, some dramatic moments now and again (tube related)
youtube.com
The dub for that episode isn't even out yet.
It even got Roshi involved as a fighter. Plus it just has interesting mash-ups of certain characters working together for a bit. 17 and 18 fighting side by side, Gohan and Frieza working together, Goku and Frieza working together...
Dragon ball is the great unifier, all races love it
>I felt blue balled as fuck watching DBZ growing up due to the ridiculous amount of dramatic standing around there is.
If i remember it right, the manga wasn't finished yet, so they were literally stalling. And it explains some of the filler episodes which don't make any sense at all in the canon.
While some of the characters do get some of the spotlight it ultimately defaults back to Goku, Vegeta and Frieza.
*watching the dub come out this year
>First two arcs are a decent movie and mediocre movie turned into dragged out terribly animated arcs
>First new arc has two interesting characters out of the ten they introduce
>fights lack any strong pacing or tension until the Black Arc
>Black arc has decent animation and fighting, but the story is retarded and riddled with plot holes. Has the worst ending if any DB arc
>ToP is filled with too many characters that do nothing or job like hell. Pacing is all over the place, as is the animation
>Jiren is the most boring antagonist in all of Dragon Ball
>Most new transformations and forms are left unexplained or don't figure into the plot at all
>Wasting classic characters like Gohan, Piccolo, etc. For Goku and Vegeta
Yeah, there's some decent stuff in between but the series as a whole sucked until the ToP, and even that was a mess. Broly movie was the best part of Super.
What do you want or expect? Krillin to win the tournament of power? For the series to kill off the saiyans and be about the humans having to fend of planet destroying foes?
Probably not, you are probably a Gohan fan. People just related to kid and teen Gohan with his arc of overcoming his fear and self doubt. That arc is over, and the problem gohan fans have is they just want him to be the strongest character due to childhood nostalgia when he was their favorite.
Fair but I don't know how people have such high expectations for things like writing. I wouldn't ever give a shit or be looking for things like time travel related plot holes in something like dragon ball. I just watch it for characters I like beating the shit out of other characters and engaging in banter. Didn't even occur to me to want an explanation for a new transformation, who cares.
>What is Tao Pai
How is that a hot take? Everyone and their brother thinks this. More like pleb take.
Nah, it's pure trash.
Stop watching merchandising commercials made for kids you retard.
I can respect that, but why not also have a story that makes sense? The stories in DB/Z weren't the most tightly written ever but they had engaging arcs and plotlines. And if you're just into fighting, again the pacing and animation is all over the place, plus with how weird the power scaling is, it's hard to feel tension when we don't know what characters can or can't do. I only care about scaling and transformations in the sense they make some reasonable sense, but if in one episode Trunks is being one-shot by black and can now suddenly spirit sword fuzed Zamasu, I can't even be invested in the fighting. There needs to be some logic for many people to care, even just for fighting
This
Also to the retarded op: go back to Yea Forums.
>does Yea Forums actually do this?
Think about what you just said
youtu.be
Get the sacred oils
t.makes assumptions
I was just pointing out where you were wrong. You're a literal retard btw.
Super was underwhelming, it wasn't bad just not very good except for a few slice of life episodes which is pretty telling.
What's your favorite filler episode?
For me, its Plight of the Children
You forgot Krillin not blowing up Android 18 because she was pretty.
Bochads rise up
sneed and chuck would feed them to death
Is Super worth watching? The Cell Saga was the last time I like the series. I also haven't seen most of the movies.
It's a hot take in the sense that Akira Toriyama is pubically acknowledged kiddy diddler and it's well documented on youtube. So can we still think this show is 'cool' when one knows about his proclevity towards the underage?
That's Turles you fucking pleb
You're a faggot, I'd punch you in the mouth if I saw you irl
My sons a fag
Theres no weight to the actual fights. When they get hit you dont get the feeling it hurt the way you did with the old sound effects
>Naruto ended with Rock Lee fighting Gaara for me
This makes no sense. I admit it was top kino, and I also admit naruto went on way longer than it needed to. But saying this was the end makes no sense, that fight doesnt resolve anything and literally every single plot point is still left open at that point, its not even the last battle in the PRELIMINARY finals of the chunin exams
