batman beyond
>not the animated series
lmaoing @ ur life
Man that song was so cool and unsettling.
Roughnecks Starship Trooper Chronicles
hey arnold just had some great atmosphere in general. fuck i love that show
Hey Arnold was pure kino
all those 90's shows did, before everything was 2D CGI cookie cutter crap with zero soul and 100000% more uncanny valley
underrated sode, i'm a big fan of the spooky/legend ones. four eyed jack, wheezin ed, big caesar, sewer king
>Batman TAS: edgy 2000's zoomer teen angst edition
>kino
Based. I’ll never forget the intro and outro music. youtu.be
>big caesar
fucking based. i loved the mythos surround the urban environment of the show. used to almost cream my little pants when gerald got called up as keeper of the tales
The entire DCAU is kino
trips of truth, and four eyed Jack is incredibly underrated. Having the entire episode just be about Arnold and the boarders freaking each other out in the middle of the night to check on noises coming from the basement and have it be entertaining shows how great the whole series was, every side character was complete
Headless Cabby was the best one.
yeah i love how each so many characters either got their own side story or built their character up through little things like that. have the whole series on my external harddrive, im watching longest monday now, where they are getting trashcanned all day by the fifth graders
>faster, faster!
scared the shit out of me as a kid
Best episode was when they were on the run.
same. the show really did get a lot worse after the third season though. nothing beats the mood of that early aesthetic. good soundtrack, good humor, good stories, good animation. as a kid from the burbs it made the city look like a cool place to grow up, warts and all
>it started when an alien device did what it did
>this kino was in the very first season
unreal
Based
I didn’t see that episode, why is is the best? I’m not trying to be confrontational or anything, just curious
don't mind me, worst character coming through
I always found Harold funny. Just watch it sometime. It's called On the Lam.
at least he was part of some great episodes. pic rel was NEVER anything
/fa/ as fuck
For me? It's Courage The Cowardly Dog. So many great episodes
based arnold beating the shit out of pedo retards
him losing his beaty boots is a fun episode also is he the one that forces Arnold to wear the bunny pajamas?
This.
she's the earth power girl that everyone had in school not to be confused with ronda's best friend the bug girl
do you want to see my lint collection
nope that’s iggy and that is regarded as the worst episode in the series, the writers don’t even like it
nah that's iggy. whenever sid has episodes that are centered around him, they try to make you feel bad for him, but he doesn't earn sympathy like harold or stinky (characters who also tend to learn a lesson one episode and forget it the next). curly is a little shit head too but at least he's hilarious. if someone hated eugene i would definitely get that. but sid is both a jackass and a loser
i know her but sheena really never had her own small arc or any development past that vague hippy shit established by the flower on her shirt. sid was a fuck up and a tard but i liked him because so many kids make similar mistakes and feel the need to prove themselves to their peers
>starmakers
I didn’t ask for these feels today
it used to be, its getting worse but still has some great entries
>press f to pay respects to young justice season 1
>press s to spit on season 3
Alright, thanks
>steely phil spinoff when?
the big caesar episode, and many others, shows that all the bullshit gramps seemed to talk was all true. he had a super interesting life
plus i bet pookie had a fat pussy when younger
bump. watching career day now when arnold gets stuck with the jolly ollie ice cream guy. also a good episode
This episode scared the shit out of me as a kid
based
how the fuck did they make an R rated movie into a kids cartoon?
>the episode where Curly was a school shooter
The same way they did Robocop, Conan, the Toxic Avenger, Police Academy and Rambo did.
now watching Hey Harold. forgot about this classic. to that user who said they always liked harold same here. i was fat and awkward when i was younger so i always identified most with him while also wishing to be like arnold
Be honest.
Big Patty.
You would.
either way you know she was a freak
but was it based and redpilled? I don't want to watch rednecks learning about tolerance and peace and befriending bugs.
Haunted Blues Train was amazing. Childhood kino.
>Stop it! You guys don't know what you're talking about. Her name's not Big Patty, it's Patty. And she's not clumsy and she's not dumb. Not only that, she's smart and she's nice and she's funny. I must be crazy to listen to you guys. Why do I care what you think? The only thing that matters is what I think. And what I think is I like Patty! And if anybody has a problem with that, I'll beat you up so bad it won't even be funny!
our little boy's growing up...
Based Harold
that episode, the stealing meats from mr green, and the fat camp one always hit me hard as a kid. fuck harold was based
Not as based as the film or the book but definitely not bluepilled.
Yeah but some characters were ugly and disgusting to look at
Some people in real life are ugly and disgusting to look at, user
he and eugene. fucking bad
HOES MAD
Who was in the wrong here?
why did rayman not sue them?
Arnold for being a cuck like always
The PERFECT one of all.
Ed Edd n Eddy.
>youtube.com
In fact, a lot of those 80/90s cartoons adapted from original movies were pretty great. Excellent opening songs which you have no comparable equivalents today.
Is that a Gummo reference?
Hey Arnold had some really bizarre plots
nothing zoomers have nostalgia for is kino. everything that chads born from 83-88 have nostalgia for is kino
good episode
COOOOOOCK A DOODLE DOOOO! DOODLE DOOOOO, DOODLE DOOO!
>Identify with the fat jewish kid that got caught stealing a ham from the butcher also he likes traps
my little kid chills
Zoomers will never know the experience of getting up at 6am on a Saturday and finding cartoons on every major network, to the point of having to pick and choose which cartoons you like more on which channel, and sometimes flipping back and fourth hoping to catch one on a commercial while the other is still going. Would it be USA? TBS? TNT? SENPAI? CBS? ABC? NBC? FOX? UPN? WB? WGN?
>Will it be Street Sharks? TMNT? Swat Kats? GI Joe? Street Fighter? Dark Stalkers? Toxic Crusaders? Skeleton Warriors? EXO Squad? Monster Force? Mega Man? Sonic? Super Mario? Double Dragon? Beast Wars? Reboot? Spider-Man? X-Men? Iron Man? FF 4? The Incredible Hulk? MIB? Ghostbusters? Big Guy and Rusty? Duck Tales? Rescue Rangers? Gargoyles? Pirates of Dark Water? Dennis the Menace? Fox's Peter Pan? Mighty Max? Dinosaucers? Bionic Six? Bots Masters?
Every network had their own line-up!

After which your mom would take you to Toys R Us and get you some action figures and then a trip to McDonald's to eat chicken nuggets and then finish off the day with a trip to Discovery Zone, because they had better play places.

used to get dragged to korean school on saturdays by my mom. my little brother and i would use the vhs to catch kids WB that had yugioh and whatever else was on at the time. would come back home, pop the tape in the rewinder shaped like a racecar and watch the shows while ffing throguh commercials feeling like this was the future. fuck i miss those days
I had been waiting so long for season 3 that by the time it came I had forgotten it. What's so bad about it?
I got dragged to sunday school(cartoons aired on sundays here) and we didn't get to tape the shows. To this day I have never seen the ending of any episode from the 90s Spider-Man cartoon or Gargoyles.

the fact that something this great was made by CN in this decade is nothing short of a miracle
More than half of that is likely animated by Japanese and Koreans.
spongebob
pure comfy kino
Yo this dude spooked the shit out of me.
And? Saturday Morning cartoons were killed, because it was cheaper to import and dub anime, such Pokemon and DBZ rather than make new cartoons, because the networks all wanted to find the next Pokemon craze, bringing in Digimon and Monster Rancher, and eventually shows like Yugioh and Medabots, and Flint the Time Detective, and a slew of others. Eventually there was only like WB left and they eventually dropped Saturday Morning cartoons entirely. And without networks all competing we were left with just CN, Disney, and Nickelodeon for cartoons, which in turn eventually dried up all the action cartoons, crippling the toy industry, because action figures are often dependent on media tie-ins, eventually killing off Toys R Us with a glut of bad movie tie-in toys such as Ghostbusters and Star wars at a time when they were already struggling financially.
Recess
ZOOOOOMMMMMMMM
>on sale still $17 for one doll
what were they thinking?
this was pure kino
imagine giving a shit about cartoons past age 9
thats when you start spending weekends out with your boys
Oscar Kakoshka was a cautionary tale
Everyone used to say Nickelodeon, CN, and Disney "died" in 2004, since they cancelled the 90s shows then.
But nowadays, you've got Zoomers fondly remembering post-2004 shows like Total Drama Island, Hannah Montana, iCarly, Big Time Rush, and Victorious. Which I guess shows this is all a cycle.
Based and gummo pilled
There’s something so nostalgic about the bumps created like this.
They have CGI on a level not even Feature Films have yet to display.
Scooby Doo, Where Are You? was pretty damn comfy. I also enjoyed A Pup Named Scooby Doo as a kid. And obviously Zombie Island is actual pure kino
too fuckin pure..
>Mature plot
>Covered dark topics like dystopian futures where main characters get killed
>God teir VA work
There is no show more based.
For me, it was a pup named scooby doo
The implications in this clip are intense
>that sexual tension between Johnny and Jack
>the implication behind why Blossom's nightgown being in Jack's laundry
so this nigga died right? this was a metaphor right?
You can offer me a diamond-plated pearl;
You can send me all the riches in the world;
This song legit makes me tear up
>edgy 2000's zoomer teen angst
>not kino
the writers apparently came out and said that it wasn't supposed to represent suicide, but it totally was at least a little bit. birdman stole the fuck out of that ending
>>the implication behind why Blossom's nightgown being in Jack's laundry
It's a laundry shop. Alot of other people use the same machines
Arnold. Whether or not he meant to, he blabbed. Also Sid and Stinky for not coming forward. Iggy did nothing wrong.
One of the best episodes

Hey Arnold was the greatest kids show but it wasn’t the greatest cartoon if that makes sense
I went through much of my childhood with no cable, but back then there was cartoons everywhere so it didn't suck really. What sucked was if you slept in and missed most of the cartoons on Saturdays and all you were left with might be infomercials or worse educational programming.
Given the variety of different writers, the levels of kino were hit-and-miss depending on the episode.
Hell, some episodes were even kino up until a fucking retarded "plot twist" that made them stupid.
A surprisingly consistent modern version of this would be R.L Stine's "The Haunting Hour": Actually quality/believable child/teen acting (holy shit those screams sometimes), and most episodes are bad-ends. Some episodes are classic horror trope stories and urban legends, others are like full-kino twilight zone episodes that get into fucking existential horror and shit.
>that fluid hand-drawn animation (I know not all episodes looked so smooth)
>that detail but not too much detail
>that subtly stylistic edge on a realistic setting makes it both distinctly a cartoon, yet a believable real human world, where supernatural things don't look too out-of-place
Hard to believe so many cartoons in that time had so much SOUL, that we didn't even appreciate it due to everything else out there. Only now that it's gone can we see it for what it was on its own.

I miss when cartoons were so manly.
I'm rewatching Conan since it was my favorite show. I had forgotten Conan's horse got his starmetal from melting the viking hook and that Zula updgraded his weapon so it can return to him easily using Jasmin spell. So many details and an evolving story. I was so glad it had a proper ending.

Oh, yeah, for sure cartoons used to be more geared toward heavier action, which died out toward the early 2000's. Man of these action cartoons are forgotten now, but there was a time when there was dozens of action cartoons on at any given time, and it was impossible to watch them all. I personally like Monster Force, Skeleton Warriors, Skysurfer Strike Force, and EXO Squad.
