Bean is kino but he's tied to the "realistic" adaptation where there were no gods or magical creatures.

That worked for Troy because the war was a big enough plot point to build a movie around, but too much crazy shit happens in the Odyssey for it to be turned into just a historical epic with no supernatural elements. Better to start over.
