The best movie ever made is The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. It has a lot of soul.
The best movie ever made is The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. It has a lot of soul
>It has a lot of soul
Explain
I agree
>voice over narration
yikes. Other than that, it's perfect.
THE VOICE OVER NARRATION IS WHAT MAKES it PERFECT YOU PLEB.
it's hard to name 5 movies in history where voice over narration was a good thing.
It insists upon itself
i did not care for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Goodfellas, Casino, Wolf of Wall Street, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Brad Pitt not a good enough actor to carry such a big project
Bullshit, Brad Pitt is a character actor trapped in a movie star's body. He has immense range but because of his good looks people think that's all there is to him.
Very good movies but literally all of them would've been better without that shit.
There will be blood is an example of an actor being able to carry such a big project, this is the opposite
I literally cannot imagine them with the narration removed.
well, they should've been redesigned of course.
you couldnt have picked a worse example
TWBB is supported by a stellar soundtrack and fantastic performances from both DDL and Dano. The directing, editing and soundtrack are worth mentioning too - its far from being 'carried' by DDL.
If you had watched the movie you would know that Casey Affleck is the one who carries the movie and if you dare say that Casey Affleck is incapable of doing that I will punch you in your fucking nose.
Recently watched it, yeah, it's pretty damn good
>Goodfellas, Casino, Wolf of Wall Street
hmmm
you misread my post retard, the reason TWBB is a classic is BECAUSE the big project had a worthy actor to boot, and the reason why Jesse James isn't a classic is BECAUSE the big project didn't have a worthy actor to boot
Based on the way you just misused the phrase "to boot" twice I think it's safe to conclude that you are not capable of judging what makes a film a classic.
the user used it right, you're a brainlet
Who do you think you're fooling?
based retard
Not really, 13 Monkeys is him at his most character-actory and it's just Pitt acting like a zany version of himself. Hes charming as hell but pretty limited in his ability to transform himself
I said, who do you think you're fooling?
This - he's a very limited actor
SHUT UP! SHUT THE FUCK UP! Argh. I'm trying this thread again tomorrow when you aren't here.
no I understood you but TWBB is a classic because it excels in nearly every component as I said: acting, filming and soundtrack. youre giving too much credit to DDL and misunderstanding why its revered
No I'm not, if Brad Pitt had been the lead of TWBB it obviously wouldn't have been the classic it was
Shawshank
The voiceover at the beginning sounded like a shitty Old Spice bit
I don't think it's the best film ever made, not even top 10 of its decade, but it's really good. Pitt is excellent and so is Affleck.
It's shit m8, Pitt is the Zac Efron of his generation
Can you stop making posts in this thread pretending to be a new person? It's not fooling anyone.
kys pittfag
This post is the assassination of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford by the coward user.
casino narration is absolute kino you fucking pleb, its the only movie where the narrator gets fucking INTERRUPTED mid narration with a baseball bat absolute genius jesus i want to fucking beat you to death for saying that
Brad Pitt's best movie is Interview with a Vampire
I almost feel sorry for you. Must be a sad life.
Voice over narration is normally awful but in The Assassination of Jesse James its perfect and improves the film. Pure genius
Nope, watch Burn After Reading. Pitt is a great actor.
Comparing any actors to DDL is retarded as hes the best actor of all time. Brad Pitt is a great actor but obviously not as good as the GOAT. TAoJJbtCRF is an excellent movie and Pitt makes a great Jesse James. Casey Affleck has the best acting performance in that film though both performances are top class.
Its very surprising to me that TWBB is rated so much higher amongst film critics. In overall quality I think Assassination of Jesse James is better. Its probably just DDL's performance, the fact that they came out the same year and an inability to watch past Pitt's pretty boy image that makes people overrate TWBB and underrate Assassination of Jesse James
Boring burger trash with filters up the arse.
Back to The Great British Bake-Off with you.
>Casino
I absolutely loathed the voiceover narration in this movie. May as well have just made it an audio book.
>supposedly historical drama film
>Jesse James becomes ethereal and teleports himself and his horse forward in space
>we are supposed to believe this actually happened
C O P E
but this movie was made by Andrew Dominik not Robert Ford
Yes
This is not teleportation, it's actually a technique called shunpo, or flash step, in which the user moves faster than the human eye can comprehend.
Well, it was based on a book. It's a movie that truly illustrates the folly of adapting novels to film, because if you were to actually faithfully adapt a novel you're required to use an absolute fuckton of narration, and it's just not the same without narration. But film is not conducive to narration, but if you adapt a novel to film without narration, you get a shitty film out of it. Basically, stop adapting books and write original plots you creatively bankrupt dumbfucks.
I flash stepped right out of the fucking theatre when I saw that shit.
Impossible, only shinigami are capable of this technique. It can't be...! YOU!
Pitt doesn't have much of a range but you won't find a prettier looking actor so he had the charm going on for him and he fit well with how manic Jesse James was portrayed.Example being the scene where he gifts Ford the revolver.
People are still talking about Jesse James all these years later while the only reason anyone ever thinks of TWBB is because people like you force it into the discussion. Stay forever mad.
kill yourself for telling redditshit normies about something truly good.
The movie flopped and the only reason it's brought up is because Brad Pitt gets pushed by jews as male perfection, despite having a small skull and looking like a boy trying to play a man in the movie
I'm gonna do it again: Blue Valentine.
SOMEBODY STOP ME!
Oh no, box office! I guess that means it's bad, good movies have never flopped. ...Heh. Idiot.
Nobody wants to see Pitt play non-pretty boy roles, because he can't play any other
>there was no eulogy for Bob
>voice over narration yikes
