It didn't seem like a horribly expensive production, most of the money was probably allotted for marketing and that was HIGHLY curtailed, so they probably didn't lose all that much overall. Take into account they will probably release an "unrated too hot for Trump" cut direct to video and hope to ride that wave to breaking even in a year or so when all the hoopla dies down.
