Doesn't get anymore kino than watching fletcher roast everyone. Has a full metal jacket but with instruments vibe. 10/10.

Yeah

it falls into the category of one of those films where i can just put on and watch it fully after i've spent 7 years browsing for a film. it's enjoyable.

There's literally zero injected political commentary or propaganda. Nothing but pure storytelling kino. I was fucking astounded.

What should I watch if I liked Whiplash and want something in the same vein?

Going only from Raimi's Spider Man, I was nothing but shocked at how fucking awesome and scary JK Simmons could get.

I found birdman gave me the same feeling.

that was hard to watch

Yeah, only women don't like this movie.

I found it hard to watch as well user.

Kino but First Man was better desu don't @ me

La La Land

Kinah

what the fuck was that ending supposed to be

Kino and absolutely depressing, but in a good way.

8/10. Neither kino nor bad. Vastly overrated.

>t.a women

Was he Russian or dragon?

Can anyone tell me why many of these nu-genius directors with critical acclaim deliver such underwhelming movies? Chazzle, Innaritu, Cuaron. All these guys feel like they have mastery over their craft but their movies never really stay in my mind a lot.

JK Simmons is criminally underused in films, Im glad he had a role when he had chance to shine.

Technical "genius", but a movie has to be more than "technically" perfect to be really great, it has to have that thing that sets it apart from the rest, which can also be a technical aspect elevated to new heights, like the Matrix, or a cohesive and straight forward argument that that engage the audience like the flight club, or films that do both like citizen Kane.
New directors are only rehashing, albeit noticeable improving over their same ideas/aesthetic, so most things are way too similar.

The Social Network has a similar vibe for me

Yep, such a tense film. Felt like the hunt; kino, but harrowing.

percussion nerd kino

The final act is one of goat.
