This is what makes berserk hard to translate on screen. A director could go 1 of three ways.
A: make up the actor of guts to look younger which probably will not work at all, maybe even CG him younger. They would have to do this with every member of the band of the hawk. Really easy to fuck up and could ruin the story.
B: get a seperate actor for young guts / casca / griffith. Swap them out for older years. This is weird and will create a disconnect with audiences, especially if everyone looks the same. Only way to do this is to use a REALLY close looking actor for all three
C: ignore the younger age of guts at the start of the golden age arc. This could work but kind of messes with his character as hes supposed to be young and angry.
None are perfect options and it really is a hard problem for a film maker to solve.

I think the problem with Guts is he's a character with a very rich depth of emotion and strong force of personality, but he looks like a standard bland handsome guy in his mid 20s. So most actors that look like him are young guys for whom their looks were a huge factor in their success rather than pure acting ability.
So basically you need a muscular guy who looks like a model between the ages 20 and 30 who also has the smouldering, threatening presence of someone like Eastwood or Bryan Cranston, as well as top tier acting abilities.
Legitimately don't know if there's anyone like that. Most actors don't seem to get really good until they're at least 30.
