idk i started it and got kind of bored after 8 episodes or so but it probably gets a lot better judging by its fanbase
absolutely. seasons 2-4 are the greatest sci fi tv ever.
I believe it's the greatest science fiction TV show of all time.
No.
It picks up and starts moving fast.
FUCK NARNS
FUCK XON
AND FUCK SHADOWS
It hasn’t aged well, and the set design gets really hokey towards the end, but yes. Some of the character interactions are fantastic. I’ve never met engine who dislikes the ‘Londo and G’kar trapped in the elevator’ episode.
Damned good.
Lot of dumbass future stories tossed arouind though. Never really liked those.
DS9 basically cribbed everything from it but dide a really really really good job of it and made ST a better IP because of it.
I see Claudia Christian is in it, any nudity with her?
If you can handle really low budget production values and hammy monologues, yes.
Also Sinclair > Sheridan
>Damned
>dumbass
>tossed
>cribbed
Are you a nigger or do you just play one on the internet?
Many boring, monster of the week episodes but when it's good, it's damn good.
Always looked like a cheap Star Trek knockoff and the fans I've met are turbo autists so I've never been interested.
Do you like The Lord of the Rings?
Do you like space?
If you answered yes to both of these questions, you may just enjoy this series.
Season 1 sucked, but you still need to watch it because it sets up later plot points and arcs. Basically a lot doesn't make sense unless you endure watching S1
>Always looked like a cheap Star Trek knockoff and the fans I've met are turbo autists so I've never been interested.
>I see Claudia Christian is in it, any nudity with her?
Only playboy. B5 is not for masturbators.
It's like Aldi brand DS9.
I like season 1, it's cozy
Elizabeth Warren told me to hate it so I hate it
Extremely poor acting and production values, but the idea is good.
Not an argument.
Yes. It is.
This. It's a complete ripoff of Deep Space 9. So flagrant, really, I don't understand how Babylon 5 hasn't been sued over it yet.
B5 is NOT for Cumbrains. Go watch something more your speed like Star Trek Enterprise.
Maybe because B5 aired before DS9?
So it's sterile? Christ that sounds horribly boring
Babylon 5: February 22, 1993
Deep Space Nine: January 3, 1993
January comes before February.
In truth, B5 was in development before DS9, so some aspects of DS9 may have been stolen from B5. However, Star Trek was in development before B5, and we can all see how much B5 stole from Star Trek. What goes around comes around.
There's nothing B5 "stole" from Trek which wasn't already an established sci-fi trope.
There's nothing DS9 "stole" from B5 which wasn't already an established sci-fi trope.
What? Are you retarded? Why are you so butthurt about being wrong?
Not an argument.
I wanted to love B5 but "races" in it are a joke. Centauri, Minbari, they even have a race called Shadows for crying out loud.
lol okay faggot
Is this the one where Busta Rhymes scissor kicked Michael Myers into an electrical panel?
Man, she was sooo hot at the beginning of the series but later on you can witness her downfall. Alcohol is a helluva drug.
JMS pitched Babylon 5 to paramount before DS9 started production with the entire series bible.
But yeah, it's all coincidence.
>JMS invented space stations even though they already existed in Star Trek since TOS
Are you the delusional conspiracy fag from /trek/?
Imagine having to simplify things to this level to pretend you're right.
You need help.
yes it is, very much so if you enjoy alien scifi at all.
Who is pretending? doesn't deny the possibility of DS9 stealing from B5. It simply points out that B5 takes just as much from Star Trek.
Why is it automatically considered stealing when DS9 does something similar to B5, but it's PURE COINCIDENCE when B5 does something similar to Star Trek?
>they're both in space
>haha see b5 stole just as much
Don't engage him. He spams his schizo conspiracy theories in /trek/ and never accepts basic logic and critical thinking because obviously Trek stole from a rejected series rather than integrate that pitch into another series they were developing. It's obviously a conspiracy theory and nothing you say will change his mind.
No, not really. Not the best Star Trek clone, not really smart, original, or comfy. Its ok for binge-watching, but its not so special. My favorite episode is "Comes the Inquisitor", absolute highlight of this show
>stole from a rejected series rather than integrate that pitch into another series
What's the difference, please?
Yes but watch it on VUDU, it's worth it.
>Many boring, monster of the week episodes
you make it sound like buffy, dumb faggot.
Yeah, it's good. You can skip Seaon 5 - everything was wrapped in the 4 first seaons.
>Londo: …My shoes are too tight.
>Vir: …Excuse me?
>Londo: Something my father said. He was…old, very old at the time. I went into his room, and he was sitting, alone in the dark, crying. So I asked him what was wrong, and he said, "My shoes are too tight. But it doesn't matter, because I have forgotten how to dance." I never understood what that meant until now. My shoes are too tight, and I have forgotten how to dance.
>Vir: …I don't understand.
>Londo: [Smiling wistfully] Nor should you.
>Good luck, Captain. I think you are about to go where everyone has gone before.
Earlier:
>youtube.com
Much much Later:

>Season 1 sucked
It was charming you gay cunt
It's worth it if you like character development and complex story arcs.
It is a space opera, maybe the most like that any show has been
>in /trek/
That reddit general is full off name niggers and trannies, which are you?
Looks like a random Vegas stripper.
>reddit spacing
you're
retarded
'Shadows' is what other races called them. Their actual species name was something like 200 characters long and unpronounceable by human vocal chords.
Over ten thousand characters long and unpronounceable by human vocal chords.
Understanding is a three-edged sword
Irrelevant.
Ah, user, you are reading this in my voice, yes?
Good, good!
Some of the best lines in the series were delivered by Londo.
Indeed.
>Londo Mollari: [arguing with Garibaldi] We made a mistake, I'm sorry. Here, open my wrists. [offers Garibaldi his wrists]
>Michael Garibaldi: Centauri don't have major arteries in their wrists.
>Londo: Of course not! What, do you think I am stupid?
B5 has the two best character arcs I've ever seen on a show. Not just a sci-fi show, any show. I also like that there are real tech differences between the less and more advanced species. Not like Star Trek where Fed=Klingon=Romulan=Cardassian=Dominion=Breen tech.
What's the point of that outfit? It doesn't cover anything! Is it for constraint of her fat stomach, or something?
What picture?
>integrate that pitch into another series
That's stealing and it's against the law.
Just saying, that outfit is basically a belt
On a rewatch, season 1 had a ton of character setup that makes it worth sticking through. There were also some absolutely amazing moments like Born to the Purple.
A lot of season 5 is worth it, but the telepath arc and the new captain are rather painful.
>Species making unintelligible telepathic screeching isn't called by their own name
Its a shame zoomers ans trannies have to ruin every fucking thread
