Why is he so rude???

honestly they won’t top ledger, why do they keep trying?

Because he's the Jokah, baby.

Because he understands that each interpretation of the Joker should be judged in its own context on its own merits, that the Joker represents a twisted aversion to the excesses of the current age

Except Joaquin's performance from the trailer has already outclassed Ledger by miles. Cope harder clowncel.

this

Ledger was trash.
Leto was trash.
Nicholson was trash.
Not a single good performance.
Phoenix looks like trash.

Why did they give Joaquin a green wig? Why not just dye his hair?

Is he just like you my dear pleb normalfag friend?

Incels have no class nor style

What hair

Joaquin would be so based if he didn't make so many shit films. But this will be one of his kino films so it's okay

(USER WAS BASED AND REDPILLED FOR THIS POST)

Honestly, this film should just be called Society.
And the opening ten minutes of the film should just be a giant mirror instead of a screen

How

He doesn't even act like a clown in it at all. The only part even remotely Joker-ish is the scene where he talks in a slightly high pitched voice to De Niro. I'm not saying he won't be good or it won't be a good character, but it certainly won't be a good Joker portrayal. Fucking Leto's take was probably closer to the comic book canon.

>the Joker represents a twisted aversion to the excesses of the current age
that's a modern zoomer interpretation old Jokers were just villains

Fuck that's deep...

>Leto's take was probably closer to the comic book canon
ha hahaha hahaha, may be its you who are a true joker?

This

gamers rise up

This
Leto's joker felt straight out of Batman TAS

Close to canon doesn't mean good. Phoenix's portrayal will be much better than Leto's when it comes to acting like a compelling character, but Leto's will probably more accurately represent the Joker as he's depicted in the comic books.

Honestly, it's painfully obvious that the writer just wanted to make his own movie but knew he couldn't do it without making it about a dumb capeshit character so he threw in some Joker canon.

i dont understand is this in the same universe as king of comedy or something?

his stuff with PTA is pretty good

Why can't I view the catalog?

No, it's just "paying homage to" (read: ripping off) the story.

I really REALLY hope the the upcoming mega-recession coincides with the release of the movie.

>mega-recession
is that just a depression?

facts, phoenix has already one.

*won

he has a receded hairline, so what.
isn't the joker supposed to look unkempt? why would they give him a green wig to make his hair perfect?

Never seen SS or any trailers for Le Jester; Nicholas' performance was the closest I have seen to the actual Joker from all 4 volumes of THE BATMAN though.

Because he understands capeshit is juvenile derivative trash for the low iq easily swindled manchildren audience and there's no artistic integrity or effort to his performance whatsoever in this tonedeaf pointless origin story that only exists because even by retarded cape standards dc truly is fucking retarded, since he doesn't give a single shit about the role, the movie or the audience which he deeply despise and he only showed up on set for the paycheck that will buy his next house while laughing at how gullible and braindead cape faggots are despite how transparently cynical and blatantly delusional this lazy 'joker story but through the prism of serious Scorsese influence' marketing stunt was when its just another half baked soulless product literally shat out by the lowest effort dude bro comedy hack in the industry forgotten a week after release once the shills move on to hype the next piece of worthless trash *

Does nobody hear understand the phrase "knock yourself out"? Obviously Joaquin Phoenix is just saying "Go ahead with the comparisons, I don't mind."

im gonna laugh like an asshole when the scene with the white wall street bros beat his ass.

Imagine the early 2000's recession, except it doesn't end, and everyone ends up losing their jobs as hyperinflation completely fucks over the pricing on all consumer goods.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Joker. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Joker's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Joker truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Jokers's existential catchphrase "Why so serious?" which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Joaquin Phoenix's genius wit unfolds itself on their screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Joker tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel chad
