So much goes no where and the plot borrows so much from hereditary in terms of ideas and images. Also it's a tonal mess and not scary at all. Shows how easily impressed critics are by "muh cinematography" and "muh symbolism"

I liked it, but it wasn't horror and should not have been marketed as a horror movie. It was more of an adult fairy tale type of thing. I enjoyed it, and would absolutely live in that community.

Also, the sex scene was good.

She didn't really kill him, the cult did. She was on LSD or something and was being manipulated by the cult. Throughout the movie she was shown to be weak willed, low self esteem, lets people walk all over her etc. It's no surprise they were able to manipulate her like that. She probably just became a rank-and-file member of them after it all ended

The movie is about her grieving process, a prolonged and painful breakup and how the person she leaned on for support, her boyfriend, was shitty and only pretended to be there for her. The cult was genuinely there for her and gave her the emotional support she needed in order to finally heal. Her boyfriend dying is metaphor for a breakup and her finally being able to move forward.
