Absolute Kino.
Absolute Kino
probably my favorite film of the decade
Shrader been making shit movies over and over for some time and then makes modern day Bresson film. Holy hell the man is based.
the best
How do you guys deal with hopelessness in the face of climate change?
It’s fucking average. Pales in the face of any Bresson film.
The way that the pastor in the film tells us to:
Acknowledge that there is the pain and despair of original sin at work in the world through climate change, but still holding to the hope of the return of Christ as he promised.
>Just remake diary of a country priest
Oh yeah, super based
test
even supposing i agree with your take, how is stealing from Bresson not based?
movie?
Eh, it borrows ideas and images from it, but the core motivation and how he attempts to connect with outsiders is very different. The whole romance with the pregnant woman alone + the environmentalist angle makes a whole different movie.
first reformed
it was kino, but I can't help but to feel disappointed with the ending
pretty good for being a knock off of a bergman script. not all of schrader's original ideas in it sucked
easy, by realizing that it will progress slowly and you won't even notice the change.

Not really. It's nothing more than Taxi Driver 2: Pray Harder
absolute cringe. Final scene was comedy gold though
I can't even imagine getting blackpilled over something this fucking lame. Kill yourself like le based movie priest
It’s not a remake at all. Didn’t you notice that the movie had nothing to do with Catholic spirituality from Bernanos’s novel?
by realising its a natural cycle the climate goes through periodically and nothing to be alarmed about
