Yeah, generally speaking. Bruce Lee thought they were superior to traditional kung fu too. He loved boxing and incorporated it, learned some wrestling and jiu-jitsu, and he took some techniques from Muay Thai (apparently he was getting more into it later in his life). If he lived long enough, there's a good chance he would have learned BJJ like Chuck Norris and his student Dan Inosanto did.

Of all time is ridiculous but he's undeniably one of the most influencial and important martial artists of the United States of America. Not because of how many fights he won but that he was pushing the ideas that MMA would later prove to be completely true far before a lot of people did.
JKD spawned a massive amount of the first generation of the American MMA scene. Why people obsessed with how many fights he won is baffling. That's not why he gets as much praise as he does.
