Master and Commander is probably the best film of the 00's

My brother's favorite film when we were growing up was The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, and it's one of my uncle's favorites as well. They're both interested in history and manly things, as well as Star Trek TOS (which I'd say Aubrey and the Doctor's relationship reminds me of the most). Master and Commander made a pretty big impression on me when I saw it with the attention to historical detail in the setting and I felt it was a fantastic adventure tale from the days when men were men. I was sure they would love it but instead they were sort of lukewarm about it. I also felt the cinematography and score alone were good enough reasons to appreciate it, but evidently not.

I guess you just can't win everyone over. My parents really liked it at least, they were both very impressed with how it was shot and the attention to detail as well. My sister in law explicitly didn't like it because it was "just a story about a bunch of MEN on a boat, who cares". She's a cunt though.

Why not just watch all of them, OP? I don't like Nolan or Interstellar and I wouldn't even consider including it in that list but since you did you might as well just watch them all.
