literally me

Whenever I'm depressed/sad/down I usually just watch some episodes of Blackadder or Tom & Jerry (except for that one episode). Some Sopranos scenes.. Also Red vs. Blue: Blood Gulch Chronicles. That's it.

>comfy atmosphere and vista is depression

your brain was put in backwards

Very exceptional post

Unsettling, Bleak, Gritty, Hypnotic (blurring the lines between horror & drama)
When watching movies classified as "horror", your mind is already prepared to be disturbed. The genre has tried to outdo audiences' expectations decade after decade with less and less success. There are only so many so-called horror films out there that truly disturb without relying on gruesome violence (probably less than 20). Because of this, horror fans quickly run out of genuinely scary films.

This is where dramas become useful. Dramas can leave you with a sense of dread that can be more potent than what horror movies provide, and this dread lingers longer.

In most horror films, the antagonist can be localized in the form of an entity, being, monster, etc. But a sufficiently dreadful drama will impart the perception that the enemy is boundless, without beginning or end, encompassing the entire universe and all life struggling within it. The horror cannot be evaded, or killed. Its all encompassing. This is the intoxicating power of atmospheric dread.

Well, no matter where you are in life, depression/sadness comes in many forms.

its worse if you have less resources

>be born with a crippling skin disease that is easily visible to anyone
>get depressed and anxious and try to talk about my feelings to people
>literally cannot relate to anyone and no one can relate to me, had people just ghost me once I start opening up to them
>stop opening up to people and just tell people that I ignore the disease if I am ever asked about it
>not even my closest friends know how suicidal I might be
shiet fookin sucks, I wish you guys the best for your depression

hold on,user

Honestly I don't know about this. I used to be so poor that I didn't own a bed or a chair or a TV or much of anything, but I knew exactly how well I was doing and could judge myself accordingly. I had fewer options so there were fewer mental resources that were required for making decisions and evaluating them. I miss that feeling. Now that I have more things and more options it's not so easy and facing problems is more difficult. There's a reason why every religious tradition has people who just give up all their possessions and live simpler lives. The emotional stability that can come from that is huge.

yeah that shit sure is depressing alright

this image confirms that rain is reddit weather

Star Trek Voyager's "Course: Oblivion." The thought of being a duplicate of someone else and realizing that all my problems are not my own by really someone else's, and having the chance to decide to own them or not.

Stargate Atlantis' "The Last Man" (pic related) and the thought of suddenly waking up in the world tens of thousands of years into the future where everything I knew and everyone I've ever known is dead and wondering, did it matter? did anything make a difference?

>depression

This unironically looks comfy as fuck though

Wasn't for me. I was unironically happier living in squalor with almost no material posessions to my name than I am now. Life keeps getting better, but I keep getting more miserable. Plenty of money, but no purchase makes me feel better.

Lord of the Rings, some Godzilla movies, maybe OT and PT Star Wars.

watch Naked if you want to go even further down
