I have watched it two times, didn't like it on either occasions. I much prefer Mad Max 1 and 2.
The stuntwork was good, yes. But the writing really sucked imo, a good action movie has characters you care for or atleast like. Imagine if in The Terminator the scene at the club was the first time Sarah Connor was introduced, it wouldn't work, you need those 30 minutes where you get to know her and relate to her before she's plunched into the conflict. This movie basically does the same thing, the only characters that had any depth or development were Furiosa and that Warboy that was chained to Max, and even then Furiosa's character was incredibly shallow. The warboy really was the only guy I gave a shit about.
The visuals and worldbuilding were great but it can't really make up for the writing, it especially pisses me off how Max's character was literally just tom hardy doing a mel gibson impression, he never changed throughout the film and after reading about how the movie was originally going to be about Max going completely insane in the wasteland to the point that he rebuild his car to renember who he even was, the lack of development on Max is really dissapointing
the first time I saw it I absolutely loved it. Then I read that it was feminist trash. I then found I could not enjoy it as much.

Dude EPIC ECSPLOSIUMS AND FAST CARS FREAKIN BASED KINO *chugs soi*

George Miller wishes he was as much a visionary as Bay.
Julian Sullivan
2 good characters (and i would throw Max in there as well) arent enough? How many did Mad Max 1 and 2 have again?
Carson Morales
>the movie was originally going to be about Max going completely insane in the wasteland to the point that he rebuild his car to renember who he even was, the lack of development on Max is really dissapointing Max forgets everything and then starts from scratch is the laziest soft reboot I've ever heard

>*chugs soi*
i bet you actually did

It's visually impressive. Lots of practical stuff. That's enough to make it a good movie

>How many did Mad Max 1 and 2 have again? The characters weren't perfect but they were likeable and you still cared for them. The Gyro captain alone is more likeable than anyone in Fury Road.
Tyler King
It has great action and soundtrack. The story is serviceable. That's really all i expect from a Mad Max movie. Let's not pretend any of the previous Mad Max movies were cinematic masterpieces. Every Mad Max had a incredibly simplistic and straightforward story that only serves to move from one action scene to the next. And Fury road has good action scenes.
I agree the old Mad Max movies didn't have great stories but they always had unique and fun casts of characters. Especially the Road Warrior. The action scenes were also way better in TRW imo, that one moment where the gyro attacks was more exciting than anything in Fury Road though the fact that it was build up throughout the film helped alot too.

Much like Avatar and pic related, this movie just throws a ton of amazing special effects at you in order to distract you from the nonexistent story.
The reason this one is more respected than the other two probably boils down to two things: >muh strong female characters >muh practical effects Other than that, it's just trash. It makes the fucking Transformers movies seem cerebral by comparison.
It's the best "just turn off your brain bro" movie. Explosions and shootings and chasing, almost no story at all to the point I wouldn't criticize it, I bet they noticed and did it intentionally. Just loud booms. Not a masterpiece but not a bad movie, you just have to value it for what it is.
Cooper Thomas
2 is really good, you should watch it for sure. Beyond Thunderdome is passable, but if you liked the other two it makes it better

>Capeshit and nuwars aren't action films Brainlet
Mason Sanchez
Who the fuck is saying that you schizoid retard? The Road Warrior had a strong female character too and I fucking loved that movie. Fuck off you absolute retard
Owen Lewis
TF&TF Tokyo Drift is a way better "turn off your brain bro" flick imo.
Brayden Gutierrez
Visually very good Good action sequences Good music Constant sense of excitement
I liked it a lot.
Jaxson Edwards
Just asking, do you also happen to enjoy any Marvel movies?
Although I disagree, those are very good contenders imo
Luis Nelson
They're soi tier action and so is Fury Reddit
Matthew Stewart
Action is action, even if it's trash
Cooper Butler
It's got RoboCop levels of delivering far more than you expected. Dumb car movie, where the acting is great, the characters well considered. Better yet, every aspect pays off, every shot has a point. It puts a mystery or question up, a dynamic, and after 2houra they all pay off simply through imagery, barely any dialogue. Still doesn't quite beat RoboCop though, that's a 2+ hour movie that feels like it's 90
William Murphy
>muh practical effects
This unironically makes the movie great and makes up for the stupid feminist plot
Chase Butler
it's a normal movie, I can't understand the love
Brandon Watson
I guess it's just easier for you to imply I like movies you deem bad, because you can't refute my points.
Jason Morris
Why are you avoiding the question?
Matthew Robinson
Absolutely I do. Iron Man 1, Spiderman 1/2/3 and a few Xmen movies are good.
