anime faces are soulless and lack character. you could cast any generic actor as these characters.
This anime is too obscure for Yea Forums. I did appreciate the dub for giving them appropriate accents though.
Its funny how wrong you are.
They have differences in faces and also have different physiques and dispositions.
>anything that aired on Toonami
>too obscure
Honestly though most of the appeal of Baccano was seeing Japan's take on a historical American era. To see America do the same thing would be pretty pointless.
Jesus christ this show.
A 90min film woudnl't give it justice, but a mini series though hooboy would be nice
Suggest someone who has the same beauty as Lisa Lisa
yeah they all have different types of oversized eyes and skinny noses, you're right.
Did this air on toonami? Honestly had no idea, but I also haven’t watched toonami in a decade.
I never said anything like that.
Homelander is pretty much Ladd Russo
>Cool an interesting story about gangs and criminals
>Ah sweet, they all meet on this train
>Maybe we'll get to see all their plans intermingle and clash
>LOL HERE'S SOME MAGIC IMMORTAL SHIT AND SUPERHUMANS FIGHTING
Fuck anime.
Baccano is already 10/10, if they adapt it they'd probably just fuck it up, like almost every other anime adaptation.
>anime faces are soulless and lack character
pleb; filtered by rail tracer kino
It's a retarded theme that anime falls into continuously
>Create interesting narrative, world or characters
>Start hamfisting fantastical bullshittery and magic into it
Yeah, there's no magic or superhumans in Western media. I really like Lost, it's a story about people who are stranded on an island and nothing unrealistic happens.
Is this edgy like Durarara ? Plan to watch this
Tried to cast some but I'm generally terrible at that...
>Isaac: James Franco
>Miria: Emma Stone
>Jacuzzi: Tom Holland
>Nice Holystone: Olivia Wilde
Not the point I made but yeah. I like the wizard that's trying to fight off the goblin invasion during Lock stock and two smoking barrels, I felt like that plot thread really worked with the other parts of the film.
You clearly don't watch anything except Toonamicore if you think every anime has something unexpectedly fantastical happen in it.
just like eva, bebop, dandy, and champloo
dub > sub
I don't think that, but I get pissed off when what could be a decent narrative or show gets sidelined because the writer or whomever tries to ram some magic into the series. Baccano! is a prime example of this, it could've been a show about all the various characters stories bumping into each other like Snatch but it just turned into magic and super human fuckery.
>I don't think that
Yet you just said that this is an anime-wide problem.
You’re just mad you won’t have immortal mob friends to hang out with forever
>implying this whole thread that magic and super human fuckery didn't improve the could have been mediocre Snatch ripoff
>James Franco and Emma Stone shinnanigans
Now we're talkin'
I agree the superpowers are the weakest part of the show but it’s still well implemented .
As said, Homelander as Psycho gangster
Sadfu as the psycho gangster's sadfu
Nathan Fillion as the male trickster
Brittany Murphy as female trickster (rip)
The dude who played The Matrxi Architect as the bearded homunculous wizard guy
Summer Glau as the humonculumus assassin
Thomas Brodie-Sangster as the forever young boy
I said that anime falls into that problem continuously not that every anime does it.
Meaning that it's an anime-wide problem, and also "fuck anime."
Yeah, fuck anime for having that problem, I seldom see it in Western shows the same way anime does it. Anime-wide meaning that a variety of different anime all suffer from it? sure. But I wasn't implying that every anime does it.
You just don't pay attention to it when it happens in Western shows. People these days don't even realize that tropes exist outside of anime.
I'd say it's less "Anime" than Drrr, if that makes sense, but yes it's still edgy
Isn't Baccano and Durarara!! a japanese anime version of Guy Rich' s movies(LSaTSB, Snatch, Rockin Rolla)?
Most Western shows tend to offer up the fantastical as the premise or at least firmly establish it. Anime tends to either shoehorn it in to a story or just keeps piling it on.
Bad example here but it was the first one I could think of.
Hannibal - A reasonably serious series about a serial killer, there's fantastical elements but it never really pushes too hard on that level
An anime version of Hannibal would just have Will Graham be a flat out psychic with supernatural abilities and steadily throughout the show he'd get more powerful and Hannibal would just turn out to be a literal demon.
I think what I'm saying is anime is seldom happy with the 'as is' of a character. A character can't JUST be a Vampire Hunter, he also NEEDS to be some magical ultra rare and powerful missing link. A character can't JUST be smart he NEEDS to be the worlds foremost expert with an IQ of 400.
damn, might skip this then. Durarara S1 was great but S2 and onwards turns Edgy as hell.
>A character can't JUST be a Vampire Hunter, he also NEEDS to be some magical ultra rare and powerful missing link.
So Blade, then.
>A character can't JUST be smart he NEEDS to be the worlds foremost expert with an IQ of 400.
So Sherlock Holmes, then.
Gore isn't inherently edgy you faggot.
It's better than Durarara IMO. Made by the same guys as well IIRC.
The opening of Baccano is LITERALLY the same from Snatch
youtu.be
Not saying it doesn't happen in Western media, just saying that Anime does this a lot more, or more blatantly and with no form of drawback. There's less of a "This is the established universe" and more of "Here's a rough idea on the universe but fuck it, lets add a wizard in S2 because why not"
>"Here's a rough idea on the universe but fuck it, lets..."
So Lost, then.
even though this is true about western fictional characters the storytelling itself is nowhere near as over the top as anime, hannibal movies tend to play out as normal enough police procedurals and other than being a daywalker blade is basically a human vampire hunter who can take more punishment than usual
I literally also said that I'm not saying western media doesn't also do this at times.
And the opening of Durarara!! is the same as Baccano, kek
youtu.be
Blade is a super special half-breed snowflake who has all vampire strengths and none of their weaknesses.
Almost everything anime gets blamed for is equally or more a Western issue.
Made by the same people
The only thing the anime did right was keep Claire's crazy bullshit to a minimum
This has been my number one anime I'd like to see a faithful live action adaptation of since it first aired, but I'd want it to be a high budget mini-series and not a movie that cuts out 90% of the content.
Why the fuck would you want it adapted? What could Hollywood possibly add to make it better?
Um, real actors?
Jacuzzi Splot as Mike Tyson
Hollywood doesn't have those anymore.
This guy gets it
overrated show
True, but it's still great. People just overhype it because it was mostly overlooked by most when it first aired.
