Daniel Day Lewis ruined this movie.

He was in it. The movie was below average Scorcese

But he was the best performance, so by that logic everybody else ruined it

Leo ruined it

No Cameron Diaz did

shut up you irish bitch

>irish btfo both the anglos and the americans just by existing in their vicinity
Are micks the most based race upon this planet?

yeah cameron diaz and that leo´s fantastic performance and accent saved the movie

SOMEBODY'S POPPED THE BUTCHER

No. It turned history into a comically violent Scorsese-tier cartoon.

It portrayed Daniel Day-Lewis’s people (the Scots-Irish) as murderous monsters. The Catholic Irish on the other hand were portrayed sympathetically (and that group did overcome anti-Catholic bias to become arguably the most popular and successful group in the US).

The whole thing just felt hilariously overdone and disjointed.

*Best performance

Can you recommend a better movie that is similar in theme?

I'm gonna say it!

I still think this is Leo’s best performance

That isn't saying much because he was still pretty bad in this
he stands out so badly

Not if I say it first!

It got recommended to me by a friend’s wife I was banging. It’s worth at least one viewing but it just felt too long and had a weird anti-colonist vibe.

the mighty mcgloin
almost fishhooked by a sprat

One of the worst movies i’ve seen. And i saw Annabelle yesterday.

Was it meant to be historically accurate? It felt almost like some bizarre fantasy movie at times.

>Was it meant to be historically accurate?
not in the slightest, it was extremely stylized pseudo-history

If you want to see a better movie involving Irish (Catholic) Americans I’d recommend Miller’s Crossing or Road to Perdition.

If you want top tier Scorsese, then Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, and Raging Bull are your best bets.

And honestly they haven’t made very many great movies about American history (except Gone With The Wind) because Hollywood by and large hates America

1: Nobody but the rich like living in 2019.
2: We're all about to fucking die.

>DEY'RE SAYIN WE'RE NO BETTER DAN NIGGERS!
>You ain't

mcgloin doesn't run away when he says it

He carried the movie. Leo was a bitchass motherfucker

Obvious bait posts like this make me wish that there was some sort of voting system for posts so incorrect opinions could be filtered away so I don't have to see them.

>He turned history into a comically violent
The ACW was a million times more violent than any of that shit in the movie dude

good double-bait

eh? eh?
